So, you have to remove the barrel to mount it?

No you do not. It screws onto the outside receiver threads.

I have two turk 88-05-35 with long barrels mauser rear sight bases if I want to add scope mount.

I also have a 1917 dutch carbine with similar action but it's much beefier wall/ring dimentions and does not have barrel tube extension.

I want to scope mount except I want to put it on receiver and cut weld bolt. Change to 30-30 from 303 brit 6.5mg dutch cart.

If you want to scope your 88/05 this is the only way to do it without altering the rifle permenantly

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.

Yes you do. It works great for a sporter project, but can be fit to any of them.

Looks pretty neat! I have a friend with like 5 88s in a pile. Are these mounts something you have for sale?

Yes they are. They come in the white ready to be fitted. Then you add the rail and optic. There is also a boss that connects to the bottom so you can screw in the trigger guard. While they screw on the tread alignment on each receiver is unique so that slight fitting may be required. With an action wrench you can usually just turn them into place though.

Forgot to point out my 1917 Hamburg dutch carbine does not have external barrel tube threads.

This mount was custom designed to work on the Commission Rifle. It finally allows scope mounting without drilling the receiver or spending astronomical money to have an offset mount welded on.
