It only takes coming across an illegal pot grow once before realizing the 4 rounds in your rifle is wholly inadequate if bullets start flying. It also only takes once getting lost in the dark or badly injured afield to realize more than 4 rounds might be a good thing. Not only for coyote, wolf, bear, and cougar, but for multiple 3 shot distress signals. When I go varmint hunting, bird hunting, or pig hunting in the Southeast, I take a whole lot more than 20 rounds.

UPDATE, I found a good used Tikka T3 lite in .270
I ended up finding a good deal on a lightly used Tikka T3 lite in .270. Should make a great hunting rifle. Many years ago I had a Tikka in .30-06. I sold it and regretted it ever since. It did have considerable recoil. So hopefully this one in .270 will be a little softer to shoot. I will probably add a 6.5CM to the lineup some day. But I think I have enough solid options for now (T3 .270, R700 .30-06, R700 7mmRM).
I foundled a Bergara B14 at Sportsmans Warehouse and that is a really nice gun. Also liked the Sauer 100 they had on sale for $550. Maybe one day I'll get one of those in 6.5.

What's the difference between Legolas and leg o' lamb?
Lamb is tender and sweet, Orlando Bloom is a commie.

Like so many trendy cartridges that are billed as the best ever most fail the test of time. Remember the 284 Winchester or 264 Winchester magnum or Winchester’s WSM’s and the WSSM’s or the Remington short action ultra mag or for that matter even the ultra mag line and 8 mm Remington magnum or how about the 6 mm Remington and so many more. If you take a hard look at 6.5 CM’s ballistics it offers nothing new and I believe it will not pass the test of time.

The sauer is a great rifle!! Smooth action as a tikka but feels more precise to me. Hard to explain. You’ll just have to cycle it your self.
Congrats on a new tikka. Get the limb saver for it and you’ll be able to spend hours behind it. World of difference on my tikka in 06. DZ357... I hope you’re wrong on that as I just drank some of that 6.5 koolaid

That’s why I picked up T3X supper lite at sportsman’s and they had seillor and bellot 140 gr fmj for 12.99 and 140 pointed soft points for 14.99$
I bought 5 boxes all together to get some brass and cheap trigger time. I really like the 7-08 but ammo is no where near as cheap and selection of the 6.5 CM
