Default Unaccompanied minors in a retail gun store

Friends and Colleagues:
Just getting a consensus here on unaccompanied minors in a mom and pop gun store. Do most not allow kids under 18 unaccompanied? Has that now changed to 21 with the new gun laws? Trying to settle a minor dispute (no pun intended). Thoughts?
Thank you in advance for all of your input/insight.

No legal issues.
You can't sell them certain items, but they can legally purchase targets and other accessories.
Unaccompanied? It's your call based on their demeanor. Some 8 year olds are more mature than most 25 year olds.

I felt a stinging sensation tonight.

Two young people, said their parents were eating at the restaurant 2 buildings down, both wearing sweaters with a local highschool logo on them. I closely supervised multiple employees answering questions and showing (not handing) them ammo and guns. After 15 minutes and 2 on 2 coverage from sales guys. They both asked if they could hold something, and both of my clerks were willing to oblige.

"ARE THOSE GUYS 21?" Everyone clammed up, both kids ran off faster than if I had kicked them out.

Nice try DOJ.

I welcome everyone to come in and learn. Most people aren't capable of sifting through all the crap posted on the internet.

Everyone is welcome in my store. Treat young kids like customers and someday they will be. They can hold guns, look at them, whatever. They just can't buy certain items until a certain age.

I got a couple of six year olds who are itching to get a pistol when they turn 21. Dads been dragging them into the shop for a while now to pick up his dros’s.

I'd let hem in as long as they're behaved. Odds are they will be. Treat them as customers as they will hopefully be future customers. I never went to a gun store when I was a kid, but I did sling my father's bolt 22 over my shoulder and pedal a few miles to a gunsmith so he could mount a scope on it. I think I was only 15 at the time.

I used to fawn over the cases all the time when I was a kid. Never once was asked not to. I was always polite and courteous.
