Horsewright - I don't believe or even thought for a second that you had any intent to use this space for advertising.

Speaking for myself, I'm loving the pictures and whatever gets posted along with 'em.

Bob, not only are they off topic, the pictures are from his online store. You do know this, right?

It is my feeling that HW is here first because he's a gun guy. There aren't many places on the internet that have any lever gun traffic even though there are web forums for it, like Paco Kelly's Leverguns.

He's a local Californian. He just happens to make his living not only with a rope and saddle, but also crafting leather.

When I first saw him post here I thought, "this feller's a great photographer". Then I learned he makes knives, sheaths, holsters, belts, chaps, and probably tack. I also thought "he could be selling, but IF he is, he isn't doing it overtly", so it never bothered me.

I don't think any more should be made of this. And I for one would like to see him remain as a member of calguns if we haven't scared him away. Not that he'd scare at all.

I've exchanged a few PMs with HW over the last couple of weeks. He's the real deal and he's not on here to sell, although if a sale of a knife or belt were to occur, I would certainly understand it. How could you not appreciate his work?

He's one of us. He's a lever gun aficionado.

I have no problem with HW's photos. They're awesome photos showing incredible work. Who cares if he's pimping his work a little. If it's on topic (or a slight deviation) and I get to see beautiful craftsmanship at the same time, go for it! I doubt that's what he's doing, but have no problem if he is.

Because I tried some of Paco Kelly's hot 45 LC colts loads for Rossi 92, so I just went and looked if he had any for a 454. Yeah, he does. (I don't have a .454 myself)..

edit: I see he also tried some (very mild) 45 schofield loads in the 454, I'm sort of surprised the gun fed that shorter case.

Looks like some black rifles and the octagon barrel guns.

What is up with the black nail polish?

I won't buy another Rossi. I have a revolver of theirs. It broke, no customer support. Had to bet a specialty part machined to get it to work again. No thanks.

I agree. Henry does make one, and it was my son's first gun. He has move on to centerfires and actually loves a Rossi/Taurus pump .22 as his favorite rimfire - he loves "old styule" guns. He carried that Henry Youth model a lot and it rode a lot of miles on his atv, accounting for a lot of rabbits and ground squirrels.

Oh my, 454 Casull in a lever. But.... can't abide a "manual hammer block safety".
