I had a dream last night that a demon made of orange light and pentagrams for eyes was floating outside my bedroom window. I whispered "Ginsburg" and he vanished

It seems like if you fall down and break ribs that seems like a black out, cause the first thing you do when falling is put your arms out the grab things. If your blacked out then you aren't grabbing anything on the way down.

It also says she has melanoma , and I don't think most of her body has seen the sun in decades.

She was doing her business at the SCOTUS building .. Maybe she was running for some reason. I can see her roller blading down the isle for exercise.

Maybe Trump should send her a get well card that states that if she would like to retire and relax he would nominate woman to replace her. That way we would get Amy Coney Barrett.

I for one am tired of the likes of Robert Bird, Ted Kennedy, John McCain, RBG, they don't serve the County in a failed state, they should have the common sense to get the hell out and let a younger person step into the shoes of governance.

She'll be fine.
My mom is 5 years older and fell a couple of months ago. Broke her shoulder and pelvis. Had to have her shoulder replaced. She's home now and walking around just fine with her walker. She was out of a wheelchair before they released her from the hospital, even though they expected to send her home with it. She looked like she had been hit by a truck. Darth Vader Ginsburg will tap into the power of the Dark Side to hold it together.

I doubt Ginsburg has ever touched a gun. It was Kagan who was introduced to hunting by Scalia, and seemed to enjoy it, although it had no discernible effect on her position in 2A cases..

Maybe this is because the 2A has nothing to do with hunting.

According to SCOTUS it does have something to do with hunting:

She has yet to weigh in on any 2A cases, although likely she'Lloyd side with the left.

Reports are that she’s been released from the hospital and is back to work already. I heard last night she’d like to stay until she’s 90.

I'd like to be a Supreme Court justice too.
But it does not matter what I want. What are you doing on gun rights website again? |

It doesn't matter what I want or you want, it's an appointment for life. John Paul Stevens was on the court until he was 90, so hang on.

Check out Sotomayor (3rd from left) from last week's investiture ceremony for Kavanaugh. Compare her to Kagan, who's 6 years younger (1st from right).
Her stance and posture look like she's a lot older than 64.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonia_Sotomayor

How many medical "incidents" did Stevens have when he was her age?

RBG has had both pancreatic cancer and colon cancer. She had a stent put in her heart, and she's now fallen and broken her ribs twice in the past few years. She is undoubtedly frail and slow physically.
I think there is far too much stock in the idea technology will keep RBG running for the next 5 years. Minus some environmental factors cancer is genetic. There is no amount of money or technology that can repair check point mechanisms that are an essential component to cellular replication. There's also only so much we can for people once someone haa contracted a disease. If RBG contracted pneumonia due to her broken ribs, we can provide supportive treatment, but we cannot change her own body's resilience to fight disease. Whatever amount amount of modern technology that has saved RBG has mostly run its course. I'm sure she would have been died years ago if she was not getting routine and comprehensive medical checkups. Modern medicine has bought her ten to fifteen years, but at this point I doubt there is much more anyone can do. There's a lot of focus on RBG because of her deteriorating health. However very few people talk about Breyer and Thomas. Thomas is someone we should be the most concerned about. He is an overweight, black man past 70. The chances of a stroke or heart attack are statistically much higher. The same goes for Breyer, but he lacks the overweight and black male component. Sotomyer is interesting because over her type 1 diabetes. People who have type 1 often die ~10 years younger due to the cardiovascular effects of mismanaging their disease. Her type 1 could shave off 10-20 years or it could have no effect whatsoever. It all depends on how well she does managing now and how well she managed it in the past. The chances of Trump replacing a SCOTUS judge in the next two years is statistically significant. The chance of him replacing another two if he wins reelection are very high. If he loses 2020 whatever chance we had at truly shaping the court will be set back a generation at best. It's imperative he wins re-election in 2020. I really hope he and the GOP does an adequate job at winning over the suburban purple districts in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin. He managed to pull them off in 2016, but Clinton was an unusually horrible candidate right after and far left president was termed out. After Trump's first four yeas, I am not convinced those people are willing to vote for him again. |

Thomas needs to retire, ASAP.
Sotomayor also has working against her that her dad died of heart problems at age 42. (Her mom is still alive.) Sotomayor has working FOR her that she's Latina. For some reasons which are not understood, Hispanics have a longer life expectancy than non-Hispanic whites: https://www.prb.org/us-hispanics-life-expectancy/ . You would think that lower education levels and lower economic status would predict shorter life but that's not the case. Trump is very likely to replace Thomas, who must be thinking hard about retirement, and he's very likely to replace one of the liberals.

As I've posted before, I don't think Thomas wants to resign/retire if that means 2 newbie justices on SCOTUS at the same time. He'd prefer only 1, to help make the Court more stable.
Countering that, I do not see him waiting so long that Trump cannot nominate his replacement (i.e., ETA: I forgot, the Biden Rule applies only to lame duck presidents. Trump won't be a lame duck in 2020, so if no one "leaves" the Court by the end of June 2019, Thomas will resign then. If someone does retire before 2019 July 01, then Thomas will wait until another year, 2020 July 01 to retire. If anything, that will bring the focus back on to how important it is that Trump get reelected in 2020 Nov to keep reforming the federal courts and SCOTUS. That will bring out all the nationalists, traditionalists (aka social conservatives), pro-LE, pro-mil/defense, Christians and gunnies to vote. If Trump loses the election in 2020 Nov and then Thomas retires and then Trump tries to nominate Thomas' replacement before the new president takes office in 2021 Jan, all holy hell will break out....

And even then, holy hell will break out. Kavanaugh was nominated before a MIDTERM and the dems were going nuts about there "being no rush"... of course, they felt they could take the Senate. A similar confirmation hearing in the summer of 2019 will be Kavanaugh X1,000 with mud slinging and "late releases of bad news" to push it until after the election.... then it will be Garland all over again. The left doesn't care about consistency... they only draw on the population's short attention span and flat out lie saying "You did it then, it should be done the same way now!" Honestly, Trump needs to solidify the court with a younger replacement for Thomas, then throw the dems a bone and nominate Garland to replace RBG (while continuing to pack the appellate courts.) Ya... maybe no on Garland

It only works once, but on appeal, it usually becomes broken and the smith won't fix it.
