There's a video out there with an officer involved shooting where the officer must've been accidentally hitting the mag release with his RH thumb or palm of his LH. He ejected his mag TWICE after only getting off one or two shots.

If I were you, I would thoroughly test out the extended mag release if you're going to put one on.

If I can find it, I'll post it up.

does the approval email say weather or not the sheriff himself is involved in the decision? last i heard my application is going to Livingstone's desk and no one else seems to have required an interview since September 2022. except those who's interviews were canceled and applications approved in December

Here is how my email started:

"Hello,
Sheriff Livingston approved your application for a concealed weapons permit."

WithinReason - thanks that settles my mind. the letter leads us to believe that he's actually receiving the, straight to approved, applications and not just left it to less busy staff with the authority to approve on his behalf

@jonty78 - was there anything in their system about you? or just normal procedure, back then?

Does anyone have an attorney they can recommend? I have reached what I believe to be a stopping point due to some unique circumstances. Good news for you California resident types, they're working on the cards for the qual groups that went through at least up 2/18. Bad news for me, I don't think they'll issue for me.

I've contacted three attorneys, two of which are linked from the advertisements of this website, and I can't get a call back. I spoke with Adam J Richards in 2021 when I moved here, but can't get a hold of him now. I fully expect to pay substantial amounts of money for these services. I'm not asking for free legal advice, or handouts, or whatever the reason people won't call me back is.

In the Special Theory of Relativity, Einstein determined that time is relative?in other words, the rate at which time passes depends on your frame of reference. However there do appear to be exceptions...

In CoCoCo's case, it's a case the theory of relatives. Who are the Sheriff's relatives!

How unique are your circumstances? Were you arrested by the FBI for threatening to kill a witness? That didn't stop Livingston from issuing a CCW to Albert Seeno. https://www.eastbaytimes.com/2017/02...-was-arrested/

Seems like requiring an applicant to buy a gun other than what they already have is essentially adding an additional fee to the issuance process.

Was there a bill passed in the last couple years to un-cap the fees that can be charged for CCW permit issuance, or did I imagine that?

If fees are still capped, it would seem like an easy court case to demonstrate that requiring a specific type of gun can violate that cap.

Can't get past the paywall, but the Seeno's are bad news in the RE/mortgage biz. Their scumbaggery goes back to the prior mortgage meltdown in 2008.

I'm waiting to consult with a lawyer before I release too much on here, but I am a non-resident residing in California. This adds a level of complexity. Nothing criminal, just a technicality.

the old process was you would submit your app, and you would need to be contacted with the livescan form before you can go get a livescan.

now, the website says you just need to submit your app before you get a livescan.

https://www.cocosheriff.org/how-do-i...r-a-ccw-permit

you can download the live scan form at the link above.

I thought we were just supposed to do the livescan now

Does anybody know if sb2 will affect us who are already in the process? will we be subject to its terms, in the application process, until whatever lawsuit occurs. I signed up for the 8 hr class. but I think I heard sb2 requires a 16hr class. as well as other, time-consuming obstacles, like a psychiatric evaluation and interviewing references, drug test, physical, credit check. maybe the best course of action is to withhold training attestation until California?s been sued.

There is a rather short Walnut Creek thread that indicates the City is not issuing. If you review this thread you will apprehend that the SD is processing apps in order of LiveScan completion. I would recommend you download the LiveScan form from CCCSD website and get it done ASAP. There is a pretty long line in front of you, but they have made some substantive efforts to speed things up. If they are not gaslighting us, maybe it won?t take you as long to get through this process as the rest of us. Good Luck!

Email correspondence asking me to clear up some details, I qualified 2/18. To be clear, they did not schedule fingerprinting.

How did you get them to respond to your email? Did you send multiple before getting a response? They seem to be ghosting many of us. They also don?t return voicemail.

Don't take my word for it, because I'm not an expert, but last year I was in the same boat as you with SB918 pending. I was told SB918 would not affect those who had already applied and were in the process already as acknowledged by IA. I was told when it becomes law, the requirements would only affect new applicants.

Boy is this going to be a giant headache for all IA's.

I would mail a completed application to Walnut Creek PD, with proof of delivery required. They can only refuse to process your application if they don't issue any at all, and I found the section on their procedure manual that says that they do. Pre-Bruen, they could just say that you don't meet the good cause requirement. But they can't do that any more. Force them to deny your application in writing.

Edit: I posted this to the Walnut Creek sub, but here's the link. https://www.walnut-creek.org/home/sh...16410037300000 It's policy #206

It can't hurt you to pursue two permits at the same time.

Please check out the Walnut Creek thread and update your progress. I'd like to know how they respond to someone confronting them with their own written policy, and the law that says that they have to issue to everyone if they are going to issue to anyone.

Do you guys think someone could use this wording to successfully challenge some of the restrictions on the CoCo county CCWs?

Took the Gun Kraft training on Sun 3/19 and thought the instructor (Robin) did an excellent job. The range training session was well run. The course material was well prepared and thought through. The class was open to discussion and questions. Overall a big kudos and recommend Gun Kraft to others!
