Submitted 6/29 and received two emails on issues today (10/11). Both were for request to change caliber to 5.56mm.

The lowers are stamped 5.56mm, but calibers can be changed by swapping out the upper. Essentially all BB AR15s are multi caliber by design. It's a matter of figuring out their idiosyncrasies in CFARS registration requirements.

Some are lucky. Others are not. Unfortunately, there is no process at DoJ that suggests any expectation of a date for an outcome.

Holy crap, you actually got something in writing from DOJ telling you it's ok to do something???

Color me impressed! I'm gonna re-post this in the AW registration thread.

Not sure how much I would trust what someone at the DOJ claims is OK based on their past history of making claims of things being legal/illegal and not really caring about what they've said in the past, but I guess it's a positive step to get something in writing for a change.

They may change their mind about it at some point, but for right now it would be very difficult for them to convict someone of something after explicitly telling them in writing that it was ok to do.

^^^ It would be nice if there was some sort of 'official' statement by DoJ that pending completion of processing the applications for registration of BBAWs, the owners could engage in permitted use of the BBAWs for which registration is pending.

Hey cockedandglocked, thank you for your initial step by step post, MUCH appreciated, it was DEFINITELY helpful. I knew about their cart issue, once I understood their form, I collected all required info for each tool, put them in notepad so that I can copy and paste quickly to stay as one cart, then submitted both prime and co registrant all at once with 2 submissions for numerous tools at $15 per registrant, around mid June. Prime received final approved letter in mid Aug, co received letter in early Oct, no errors. I heard that some were getting surprise visits by the DOJ for blurry BB images, so I made sure that those images were definitely clear. Anyway, that's my experience with the DOJ, good luck to those who are still waiting.

BTW, I bought more Mega Million tickets today than usual, if I am a lucky bastard, will be outta here and not have to worry about this dumb commie crap anymore

Now if the DOJ could send a letter stating that fact to LE that pending AW Applications are considered compliance with the law and are still within a “grace period”
