Default 340PD Pocket Carry

Do you just keep the 340pd loose n your pocket or put it in one of those square leather holsters that hides the shape?

I wouldn't carry any gun without something covering the trigger.

A pocket holster is also good to keep the gun in position for the draw.

Use the sticky pocket holster. You should always use a holster.

Plus NEVER, EVER carry anything but your gun / holster in the same pocket.

No coins, keys, speed strip, speed loader, knife, wallet, cell phone, papers, NOTHING!!!

Barami Hip Grip.

In your waistband. Like it's not even there and stays in the draw position.

I do not see a safety issue with carrying a double-action revolver loose in a pocket. On the other hand, when I do pocket carry my S&W 337, I like to use my Uncle Mike’s pocket holster, and I do not carry anything else in that pocket, nor do I carry anything in the hand I would use to draw the revolver.
I carry wallet, keys, knife, and speed strips I other pockets.

^this or a Clip Draw work well for something simple to just be able to grab and go.

I use a clip draw as well on my 642 and Ruger LCR. It works great.

Agreed. This method also magically expands your choices of what clothes you can wear.

I've run a naked 340PD with a Clipdraw for years. If my (untucked) shirt covers my front pocket opening, it rides via the Clipdraw on the edge of my pocket. Very slick.

If I have a shorter or tucked shirt, in the pocket naked is no problem.

That gun has a 12-pound DAO trigger...

I have a few guns that I will pocket carry without a holster. You just have to be deliberate about it. Make sure that there is nothing but the gun that goes in the pocket and it works better with certain pants than others. Some have a pocket where it rides just right and some it prints to bad to carry that way. You just have to observe and make the call.

As a side note, snub nose j frame revolvers carry very well in a good ankle holster. I have a Blackhawk ankle holster that worked surprisingly well. You will pretty much forget it’s even there.

+1 on the Desantis Clip Grip with my model 60 for around the house or quick walk to mailbox.

If and when the market returns to normal, would like to add a 642 paired with a Mika holster for pocket carry or even another Desantis Clip Grip.

To each their own, but I don't trust an exposed trigger even with a revolver.

I've carried a S&W J-frame for years with one of these - either in pocket or IWB.

I carry my LCR (357) in one of these. Bonus, my G26 fits it too.
