Default Gilroy, CA - El Paso, TX - Dayton, OH

Cue the grandstanding democrats once again trying to disarm law abiding citizens by “never letting a crisis go to waste.” The leftist gun grabbers refuse to look beyond the low-hanging fruit of “guns are bad” and “Orange man bad.” They care not about the safety of the American people, as they are nothing but political opportunists seeking only to increase their power; concentrating political power in the federal government while diminishing the power of the states and the populous. Firearms have been around since before the founding of America, and are more highly regulated now than ever before in our history, yet this is a fairly recent problem. Given that, no one asks - what changed?

For those willing to take an honest look, this is a symptom of the ongoing problem of the degradation of our society and morals. The destruction of the family and a God-centered society, replaced by the development of a detached, isolationist and individualistic society, as well as a failure to properly and effectively deal with mental illness has brought this upon us. The young men doing these things are frustrated, angry, displaced, social misfits. Possibly bullied, lonely and outcast ‘children’ stunted in their emotional growth beyond adolescence but occupying the bodies of men who have disassociated their thoughts, feelings, and ultimately their actions from reality and the consequences of those actions. These desensitized loners who live in a bubble of societal isolation focus all their attention on inanimate objects; entertainment devices, the internet, violent movies music and video games, are the real culprits. They likely have few if any friends and lack a social support network and involved parents and family. Their parents failed them, the educational system failed them, and society failed them. This is a generation of children - now men who were promised that everyone gets a trophy, there are no losers, life is easy and everything will be given to you. Success in life without effort is their due; fame, wealth, idealized relationships and never a worry or difficult problem to be encountered. They then come to the realization that none of that is true. They aren’t special or unique as they were told, or even noteworthy. They are nothing but nameless, faceless, powerless cogs in the machine, who if gone tomorrow no one would take notice. They were sold a bill of goods, and lash out at the society who led them astray in the only way they know how; through violence because they were taught that is the way to deal with things by the movies, video games and internet that raised them. As we continually point out, this is not a gun problem and never has been. It is a people problem, and until we coalesce as a society, as Americans, as friends, neighbors and families, nothing will change. Instead of seeking to genuinely address the core problem, the politicians seek to further divide us on ideological grounds with their hyperbolic overreaching pontification, and focus on the tool rather than the individual who chose to use the tool for evil. There have always been people who fell by the wayside in society; the misfits, the outcasts, the troubled and the mentally ill. In the past, they simply drifted into oblivion, unable to cope or even function in society. They no longer willingly disappear, but now turn their anger and disappointment on us in a last desperate act of revenge.

Due to our collective societal neglect; the failures of parents, educators, healthcare and law enforcement officials, and the blinders we’ve worn for the past many decades, concerned only with our own selfish wants and needs, we’ve created this nightmare. Politicians will continue to avoid dealing with the core problem, because there is no easy fix. We have strayed too far as a society to easily reverse it. We are metaphorically on a runaway train heading in the direction we’ve chosen, and without a radical refocus of our society, we will only be left with dealing with the consequences of our neglect.

We need to stop using the term “active shooter”- it makes them sound cool

2 legged turd is my current choice

Suicide bomber- fake term
Homicide bomber is accurate

The demonization of young white males has a role. They've been told and taught that they're irredeemable racist sexist homophobes who are the root cause of all our problems. Title IX kangaroo courts in our colleges, media disrespect (Covington anyone?), and a climate of toxic feminism has these kids in a place where they feel they will never win or go anywhere. They have nothing to lose; even their life is no good so why not go out with a blaze instead of a whimper?

You are asking for personal responsibility and accountability when it's so much easier to blame inanimate objects?

Not holding my breath... society stopped expecting that from its members long ago.

Things are about to change big time. You thought Sandy Hook was a catalyst for change. Just wait until the politicians get through with this.

I'll bet we're going to see some sort of a buying spree.

Default Gilroy, CA - El Paso, TX - Dayton, OH

I noticed that the last one in Dayton wore hearing protection, copying the WalMart shooter from the day before. As far as I know that’s the only two times hearing protection has been worn.

And more and more of them are surrendering, so that they can enjoy seeing their face blasted on the media. The media and anti-gun politicians like Newsom and Harris love these shootings, and bathe themselves in the blood of each shooting for more ratings.

Last week when it was initially reported that the shooter used an SKS (NOT classified as an AW), Newsom still called it a “weapon of war” because of the super high-powered cartridge it uses (about 55% of the power of a .30-06). Anything to get his face on the news.

Someone mentioned the demonization of young white males in society, or at least their marginalization, and I think that’s part of it. These losers have no life, no goals, no male role models, no hope, and only see their country and life falling apart.

The guy in Gilroy last week (near where I live in Salinas) just said “I’m angry!” when someone yelled at him asking why he was doing it. Yeah, we get that, but angry about what?

What a mess. At this point I’m not arguing with anyone anymore about RKBA issues; the gun banners either don’t care about the valid points I make, or have pigheaded cognitive dissonance so bad they can’t hear me. I’m just saying “come and get them!” if you want them so damned bad.

I am concerned that tomorrow may be the beginning of the end for our "free states". Federal law will negate our gun rights here in Utah and every other state. Sanctuary states allowed?

Background checks proposed by Trump ARE the beginning of the end in free states where face to face PPT is standard practice.. Involving an FFL transfer with fees... We want less gun control..

And the left are going to be demanding much much more.

Hopefully the president was just talking to shut up democrats. There has never been a problem with PPT. In fact the opposite is true.

No one who enjoys RKBA will sell PPT to a person of questionable character. The same cannot be said of FFLs who could get sued for refusing a sale.

That said, Ive been told club members and friends pretty much ignore laws on PPT.

w c'mon fella's.............we ALL know that what's truly needed is both press and media control.........CONTROL, such as in licensing, educational requirments and pre review of material presented to the public.

Further, some cooling down, wait period if you will, ought to present some measure of difficulty to the socially challenged i pad types that commit these sort of atrocities.

Besides, what the hell, it's just a slight dent. not an infringement on the 1st.

We should accept it, for the children!

Yes I agree a bi partisan group consisting of Christians and republicans should do background checks and fact checking to help stop the next mass murder committed by easily influenced very stupid people who identify as socialist.

Here is the motivation of the Dayton murderer;
https://defconnews.com/2019/08/04/da...th-warren-fan/
"While liberals are trying desperately to portray the El Paso shooter as a racist white nationalist based on a joke manifesto, they’re going to have a much harder time doing it with the Dayton killer. The man who killed 9 people in Ohio this morning describes himself as a socialism-loving leftist, a Satan worshipper, and part of Elizabeth Warren’s tribe. It doesn’t mean liberals won’t accuse him of being a Trump-supporting Nazi, they will, it’s just going take take a lot more spin to get there."

Its the echo chamber politics of ALL of the news media outlets including now social media. They will claim to be crusaders against such violence but they are actually the bannerman of this violence.

No one wakes up in the morning saying, hey, I got this great new idea that no one thought of before, I will go shoot kids at my Walmart.

The mentally ill are likely to copy other behavior they see as they use copying as a coping mechanism to marginally function in society.

The other aspect is that the media has a field day because it means out by 11am with their copy complete with the rest of the day available for shopping, golfing, and recreational drug use, maybe even some extramarital sexual relations with their supporting cast.

The media could care less about the carnage they sow in sensationalizing these shootings.

In the grand scheme of things this means nothing to us as a nation when you consider we have 50,000 AIDS deaths per year, 40,000 vehicle deaths per year, 4,000 person of color murders every year (over 50% of the total), and so on. Yet these 100 mass murders a year that is now creeping up to 150 is the cause celeb of the media that spends a disproportionate amount of their news/media time devoted to this insignificant blip compared to all the other homicides.

We won't even mention the death and carnage of over 200,000 Americans dying much earlier each year from processed foods as that is the bread and butter of the media advertising dollars that pays for that tailored dress and hair stylist or golfing fees.

I believe its there selfishness of wanting ratings, high paying advertisers, and wanting to have an easy day at work by copying the crap from the last mass shooting for their work for the next 4-7 days.

These bloody killers copy what they see in the media and with the leftist media consumed with days and days of 100% coverage of these rare isolated instances being thousands of times amplified in the echo chamber we find that the news has been the creator, maker, and major benefactor of this mass murderer events that are harvested for their news value.....They are the only ones that profit from fame, money, easy work days, power, more viewers, and more advertisers willing to pay more to be associated with these news crusades.

There is no crusade against black violence as there is no profit in it for the media, only down sides even though by my math 4,000 >> 150 in total deaths per year. Report on that with solutions and your media outlet will be shutdown as racist!

Meanwhile in nations without mass murder the media is gagged, the families of these mass murders are punished (most of the time the family of these mass murders know there family member is sick and very capable of such behavior and does not warn the greater society of the risk), and sensationalizing it would get you some jail time and your media outlet shutdown. The mentally ill folks in these nations then have nothing to copy.....as seen on TV..... so maybe they copy something productive as seen on TV like we had in this nation over 60 years ago!

I say we need government intervention to control the hoarding stampedes of lazy greedy media folks who are unable to exercise any self control for the greater good of society....because they are just too selfish and harm society with their actions.

This is the best and most effective way to stop these mass shootings.

Meanwhile the other hundreds of thousands of Americans being killed every year can maybe get more attention ….. and maybe even some solutions.

Yes the founders never could have foreseen these rapid fire, high capacity, electronic communication systems favored by big complicit,5th column media.

Where is the FCC ? where are the permits and background checks on people who hate our freedoms and are using it to form a global government dictatorship?

Its time to hold them accountable as accessories ,based on the manifesto's published by these sick degenerate, pathetic, cowards !

Gilroy (3) did not meet the FBI criteria (>4 deceased) of a "mass killing"- but you can be sure the media won't let that slow their roll.

Stephanie, Thank you for a very thoughtful and accurate post. I believe you hit the nail on the head. I doubt many of those commenting on this thread took the time yo read your comments. I found it telling that one person even suggested you were addressing "one issue" when your point is there is no one issue just a lot of really troubling societal issues. Personally, I wish we could spend as much time worrying about young men and how they are increasingly left uninspired and aimless as we do about either gun control or the right to bear arms. The disinterest in young men has created powder kegs that don't even meet standard definitions of mental illness. Boys think on line but people say things on line they would never say in public. There is no kindness on line.

26 of the deadliest 27 mass shootings have come from single mother home.

https://milnenews.com/2019/08/06/day...fa-and-warren/The most recent tweet on the @iamthespookster account was on August 3, the day of the shooting, when he retweeted a post saying, “Millenials have a message for the Joe Biden generation: hurry up and die.” He also retweeted messages supporting Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.
The user’s Twitter bio reads: “he/him / anime fan/metalhead/ leftist / I’m going to hell and I’m not coming back.” One tweet used the hashtag #HailSatan.
Police are still trying to determine what motivated Betts to kill nine people early Sunday morning in a popular nightlife district in downtown Dayton. He was killed by police officers on patrol nearby 30 seconds after he opened fire.
In the hours before the Dayton shooting, the Twitter account “liked” several tweets about a shooting in El Paso, Texas, that left 22 dead, including one supporting gun control and others that called the El Paso shooting suspect a “terrorist,” and a “white supremacist.”
The account also retweeted posts against ICE agents, including one that said, “these people are monsters,” and multiple posts condemning police, and supporting Antifa protesters, who often use violent tactics. There were also many tweets of selfies, photos with a friend and ordinary memes and nonpolitical content.
The killer was also very anti-Trump and supported 2020 Democratic presidential contender Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, according to The Associated Press.
The account was suspended by Twitter on Sunday evening. A Twitter spokesperson would not comment on the account, only saying in a statement, “We’re proactively removing content that violates our policies and will be engaged with law enforcement, as appropriate.”..

Police or still looking for a motive !
Pretty simple -- Guy was evil, sick, twisted and a democrat w/o principles or w/o any concept of the creator or life in the here after!

The 2A starts with the words "A well regulated miliita..."

2 questions:

What is a militia?

What does well regulated mean in that context?

IMO, the prefactory clause is being overlooked. It's purpose isn't known any longer so modern society doesn't understand why it's there.

Skip the "able bodied men between X and Y ages..." stuff because people are living longer and the ADA is going to get in the way. Let's focus instead on WHO and what is required for them.

Who is anyone who wants to posses firearms. So, let's regulate them and put them into order as required for a militia. Let's require that they certify that they:

Aren't addicted to, or users of, illegal drugs. Aren't criminals. Aren't under the treatment by a mental health professional and haven't been for the past 5 years.

Let's also certify that they:

Are legally allowed to be in the US. Can pass a comprehensive background check. Can attest or certify that they are current military or law enforcement who have undergone firearms training OR can show that they are former military or law enforcement with firearms training who were discharged honorably OR can show that they are a current holder of a Federal Firearms License OR have certification as a firearms instructor/range safety officer/etc from a recognized firearms organization.

If the applicant cannot do that, then:

Applicant's should be required to take and pass a "militia firearms test", including written testing and live fire training, which shows safety and proficiency with firearms to a set/established standard that the States must comply with and which States are unable to alter/amend/modify/enhance with additional requirements.

If you can do that, you get put into the database as "approved". FOR LIFE unless the States notify the FBI that you have a conviction or are under the care of a mental health professional, or are otherwise "disallowed".

You get 2 shots at it. Once after you turn 18 and one additional attempt for those who don't pass at 18 after they turn 21 or the required 5 years after treatment have passed. If you're over 21 for your first attempt, you get 1 shot at it. Period.

If you can't pass, you're out. FOR LIFE.

Bonus points: Once "approved" you no longer need a background check for additional firearms purchases because it's up to the State to prove you aren't eligible. Should you become ineligible, then the State shows up to confiscate your firearms after they notify the FBI of your new status. Yes, there's still a DROS to fill out, but that info just gets transmitted to the State. It's up to the State to act after that point in time, not require the dealer to be an extension of the gov and deny the sale.

Obviously the above is a lot more complicated than the ability to write it all here. The point is that the current system is a "ban unless you can prove otherwise". That's not Constitutional and why we're having such a problem with it.

That true and we should be asking why no police were there in time to stop these slaughter's ?

I thought 911 was the answer but apparently some in govt do not want these killings stopped !

If they did they would want lots of decent god fearing people armed !

I think one of the more disturbing things about these last three incidents was there WAS heavy police presence, and they did stop the shooters relatively quickly.

THESE shooters (EP and Dayton at least) were better "prepared" for their acts of terrorism and the death tolls show it.

These lunatic killers are getting better, even as LE is doing better.

Thank you! You’re right about the shunning of boys and young men. The educational system failed boys by focusing their favor on girls. Back in 2015 noted rational feminist Christina Hoff Sommers wrote an expose’ of a book that pretty much addresses your point: “The War Against Boys: How Misguided Policies are Harming Our Young Men” which I also believe is a large part of the problem. Unfortunately, no one in power is willing to look honestly at the problem in an effort to address the critical issues. Instead they only use deaths to advance their larger political agenda while failing miserably to fix anything at the expense of lives and constitutional rights. 😞

Here is the motivation of the Dayton murderer;
https://defconnews.com/2019/08/04/da...th-warren-fan/
"While liberals are trying desperately to portray the El Paso shooter as a racist white nationalist based on a joke manifesto, they’re going to have a much harder time doing it with the Dayton killer. The man who killed 9 people in Ohio this morning describes himself as a socialism-loving leftist, a Satan worshipper, and part of Elizabeth Warren’s tribe. It doesn’t mean liberals won’t accuse him of being a Trump-supporting Nazi, they will, it’s just going take take a lot more spin to get there."
..
I sure wouldn't call the EP shooters manifesto a joke, considering what happened.

Re: Connor Betts, the Dayton shooter.
Anyone else find it ironic that hardcore socialist Betts had at least 5 black people among the dead? And who knows how many more among the wounded.
Odds are they all would have been more or less aligned with Betts political views, and yet he killed them.

I never considered his manifesto or anything regarding this filthy, well fed, clothed, pampered parasite a joke!

I do not consider the big media, school system or agenda that produced this evil, diabilocal attention grabbing ****bag a joke either.

What is a joke is interpretation of RKBA and until good people are armed to stop this stuff real fast, these murders will continue and get worse.

But I digress, thats the whole point now isn't it !

I understand, and I agree with a lot of what the OP said. My biggest and only problem with these types of explanations is "why not me?" Granted I was raised a certain way but I am 33 years old, I am unfortunately a millennial. There were no roads paved in gold for me, my parents divorced, my dad was laid off, I went to work to help and finished high school. I then moved out at 19, and found my way. I have made the choice of food vs. Rent, car payment vs. Rent and so on........I'm not saying that I'm " up on my perfect mountain" here, oh and I was raised by 2 alcoholics which has been fun to deal with within myself. So all I'm trying to say is yes, the OP is correct on a lot of points, but I just dont get it. I have zero desire to do anything like these troubled individuals did, but then again I've never been on any psychiatric drugs either which always seems to be the case with these folks. Hopefully I conveyed my thoughts well on this, I just hate the excuses for the "why" they did it. I think its obvious, it's a combo of things, and ALOT of things things need to change here in society before it gets better!

Unfortunately it only takes a few to fall off the deep end to gain the label for an entire generation.

  • "assault weapons" have been around since the 1930's
  • The plastic variation of them have been around since the 1960's
  • 99% of mass murdering turds seems to be under age of 30.
  • The medical establishment started to mass medicate children starting in the 80's
  • The mass media, internet, started to propagate into personal lives starting in the 90's
  • Gaming industry producing more graphic, realistic, violent games no longer killing demons or monsters, but other humans.
  • The X-gens started to raise more egocentric, self-absorbed, entitled children.

Me think there are other variables in this equation other than the tool mass murdering turds used.
