Default Colt SAA 4-3/4” BCH 45/45ACP

My dual cylinder 45 is the only SA I shoot ( because it had been shot a lot) in
45 Colt when I got it,now it gets shot a lot in 45ACP. Just added a case hardened hammer to look more like yesterday and the bullseye ejector head, also. Never get tired of these guns.

That sure is a pretty gun you have there.

I keep thinking that I would like to have my second generation SAA refinished with a case colored frame and blued backstrap like yours is. It was marketed as a commemorative edition in 1961 and was all blued with a gold plated hammer, trigger guard and back strap. It's a look that is a little too pimped out for me. It was used by a cowboy shooter and has a fair amount of holster wear, so I don't think refinishing it is going to hurt it's value. I realize that it won't add any value either, but aesthetically i would find it more pleasing.

But then I think that if I do, I probably wouldn't shoot it because it would be too nice.

Beautiful gun. That's one of my "some day" guns. Someday I'm gonna own one.
