Default Wheel Guns - almost C+R

I like these two - and shooting them is a joy.

1978 (R block) Colt Diamondback .38 Special. (Almost a C+R)
Used and Abused.
(The split in the grip has been there at least a decade.)

1997 (-7) Smith & Wesson Model 19 .357 Magnum. (2047 it joins the C+R list)
Used not abused yet.

The ammo is older than the revolvers combined ages, and hopefully qualifies this as a C+R picture - lol.

Have a T-grip and vintage wood coming for the S&W.
The Diamondback in 2.5" should never have the big target grips so I have vintage Service grips coming for that.

Leaned that when it says D-Type Grips for Detective/Diamondback - those idiots have never owned a Diamondback - standard D-grips DO NOT fit a Diamondback.

Ha - Check this out Pit

The DB is close to yours - 1978 R block - Cousins at the very least -

The S&W is a -3 - She's been refinished by the previous cat though -

Nice Victory Jack -

Nice Saigon - !

I have some Service grips coming for the Diamondback.
I bought Detective D grips while it was in the shop and of course they don't fit.

I received the "new old stock" S&W grips this morning.
(The Pachmayer T-grip sucked and didn't look good or fit snug, I pulled it and tossed it in a box.)
I'll probably buy an original Taylor one, if this thing bucks too much with .357"

Nice Victory.

Good eye on the ammo in my picture - I bought that for my Victory!

I can play too!

1977 Detective Special. Still a few more years before it reaches C&R status.

This 1973 M15-3 is a bit closer, but still has a couple of years to go:

While technically this 1970 M19-3 just achieved C&R status I would think that it won't be official until next year.

Some nice almost C+R wheel guns here.

Do love the S&W M19's -

Any more Diamondbacks out there?

S&W 19-2 6" .357. My notes say 1966, but could be earlier than that so it's already C&R. Just too purdy not to share. The left grip was modified beyond the usual football cutout for a speed loader.

Incredible pair of wheel guns!!!

That Ruger is the same age as me, and the Dirty Harry movie, and Enter the Dragon, lol!

Really nice -
The 19 is interesting it looks like a different model firearm with the longer barrel, the whole aesthetic changes -when compared to the 2.5 - still a stunner, just different.

.38 S&W isn't the right ammo for that Diamondback and the S&W 19, is it? (Don't see no "Special" on those boxes....P.

No it certainly isn't - but, that was the only vintage .38 I had at hand for the photos.
That said, it would be smooth firing.

Did about 600 rounds last week with these two snub-nose revolvers and have to say, I really enjoy shooting.
After years with 1911's and Browning's and big frame Smith's the challenge and fun is really different.
Both the Diamondback and Smith more accurate than me within 25 meters, and I even ran some test runs at 50 yards for fun, with volley fire and they were both remarkably straight shooting.
Shot the Diamondback until that skinny trigger left a blister on my finger, so going to look into making that a little wider.

Wow, nice ones! Here's my S&W M19-4 though I posted this pic on another thread. I forgot what year it was made.
