Default Forget to disclose

Hypothetically if you forget to disclose a traffic violation in the initial application, and remember after you get a license, do you let the Leo know? How?

Question

What does a traffic ticket have to do with legal concealed carry?

when I was in Sac County and got my CCW, it seemed most of what they wanted to know was if you were upfront and willing to put everything on the line.

it was mostly a character interview. Let them know everything

remember CA is a "may issue" state

and they can pull it for any reason.

So if you forgot to add that to your application?

Call your IA and let them know you forgot- and are happy to email the details if needed. They'll likely say fergetaboutit, but you would control the narrative and demonstrate forthcoming truthfulness. One benefit of disclosure is nobody "has something on you" and spin it how they see fit.

Or roll the dice and hope they don't find it on their own and take issue- which you then have to defend.

That's the point- its not so much the ticket, as did the candidate withhold information (after repeatedly being told to not do so). The concern is if they withheld info before, what will they withhold after getting a CCW?

I would let them know via email. If you go for renewal and it comes up it may open a can of worms.

Hanky Panky is in a free state unaware of the CA CCW dilemmas one has to go through.

They already know about it. during my interview the guy asked if I was a tow truck driver, which I had been in the late 90's. I asked how he figured that out and he said he saw a ticket I apparently got for not having a broom on a tow truck...they know everything.

From CA DOJ BOGC background check training course for determining the suitability of gaming license applicants...

Multiple traffic violations for speeding within a given amount of time is a behavior indicator that the applicant is generally not law abiding and shows the applicant's blatant disregard for the safety of others, which can be used as evidence that the applicant is not a person of good moral character and grounds for denial or revocation of their gaming license.

OP, since you discussed the matter with the IA after the fact, you may want to document for yourself who you spoke with with, when and what the outcome was.

Something as simple as "Sept. 3, 2022 at 1230, spoke with Jennifer, said I disclosed a traffic ticket during the interview that I forgot to include in the application."
