I purchased a model 3 last week. I don't know a lot about these knives, they sure are well made.. Made from A-2 tool steel. The knife itself is going to get me in trouble because I can see a few more in my future. Does anybody here know what the warranty is on these

Model 3's are really nice looking. Great blade size. I like the micarta, but a Model 7 with stacked leather is pretty nice too.

I'm just lucky I didn't see these knives sooner, I think a model 5 is next. I do like those model 7s tho

I've always wanted a Randall but didn't want to pay for one.

Hess is another similar brand IMHO... that I never got into, but could. I could have two of those Model 3's for my incoming Team Gemini Ultra Light... I don't think I would make that trade, but the traditional looks are cool. Maybe I need just one Natural Micarta Model 3.

https://www.dlttrading.com/hess-knives

Seems like Hess is sold out everywhere. Hopefully they still make knives. Another guy to check out is Lon Humphrey - I know I just saw one in this thread up there. I had a Buckeye Burl Reaver that was too gorgeous to beat up.

I really like that Hess outdoorsman but they just aren't there to buy.

I looked at the Lon Humphrey knife's, nothing really stood out to me.

Thanks for the tips.

I like the 7's on pre-order that have the stacked leather commando handle.

Yeah I do't know what happened to Hess, maybe they are working on smaller knives. I see Collector Knives has a couple models, and I found fillet knives here and there. I didn't know that GEC makes the blades for them.

I like Humphrey's Gunfighter and that Reaver, but not a lot of else jumps out at me either, except the craftsmanship I saw on that Reaver. It was perfect. They are pretty pricey though. I got it on a trade.

BUSSE Team Gemini Ultra Light Brigade... compared to my Forsaken Gemini... weighs 4.02 ounces less. Can't remember what my coated TGLB weighed.

I couldn't pass up the deal a buddy got me on a Benchmade Altitude...looks like its going to be my new hunting knife.

I typically like a fixed blade with Scales...but the design of this knife....and of course the S90V steel is fantastic.

I had a chance to give it a go on a few Javalinas and deer in the late AZ archery season....its probably going to replace my S30V Steep Country.

Not too fancy, but I bet indestructible... looks like they are putting some scales on it now.

https://www.coldsteel.com/drop-forge...list-grey.html

Street price is about $60 with a workable sheath. I liked my Hunter, so I am trying one of these.

Just ordered a benchmade contego. Been eyeing these for a while and at $140 I couldn't pass it up. Can't wait to get it in my hands.

Not because I am selling a Blackjack but comparing one to Anza knives is like comparing apples to oranges.
I too have Anza knives from the 80’s that are carbon file users. Not much in collector value than what I paid back in the 80’s. Anza’s styles have changed some but are still made to be USED. Hope that helps.
These are a set of steak knives Charlie Davis made for me back in 85. IMG_0557.jpg

Collecting to appreciate in $$$? Probably not. I want one or two for sure. I bet if they stop making a certain model or handle style, it'll be worth more to someone and you might find them on the Internet, but if you are collecting to sell a $200-$500 knife for $300-$1000 in a few years, you probably want to collect BUSSE. IMHO, the traditional brand would be GEC. Both of those have small batch releases that do not roll around again for years if ever. BUSSE probably won't even make a TGLB again, etc... GEC Beer Scouts were about $90 when released but you'd be lucky to find one and pay $150 now... maybe easier to get one at $200.

For the enjoyment of building and keeping a collection of cool knives, I'd collect Blackjack... if they are as good as they look. I'd collect Kabar, and OKC too.

I just bought a $60 Cold Steel Survivalist... I know it won't be worth twice as much in a couple years if they are still making them. But you never know... I had a XL Talwar and those are $$$ now because they stopped making them and they were probably the best looking waveable CS behemoth.

I came across a good supply of high quality #24 scalpel blades at work, so I picked up a handy little knife for my camping/first aid gear

Tiatner Dragonfly, weighs less than 11 grams with the blade and it seems to be made pretty well

Like guns, I never sell them. I was just wondering what would be a good investment, Quality.
I'm very impressed with the Blackjack knives. I'll probably purchase a few more of them and then move on to another brand. I have a few folding knives that I use off and on for carry, depends on what and where but I'm not really a lover of them.

This Cold Steel is a great larger fixed blade. I'm honestly impressed with the new version with the very aggressive textured scales in the forged groove. SYKCO HG parked Regulator for scale... similar knife IMHO. $60 for the CS is a steal.

I really dig that CS! How’s it balance & how thick is it?

Balance is pretty good. I have the Hunter and I added skate tape to the handle grooves... this one needs nothing. A lot better than the old version and the color is nice.

Thickness is listed at 6mm and it does appear less than .25" to me. It is drop forged so it is one solid piece. The handle portion gets a lot thicker. It is a nice sharp piece of 52100 ball bearing steel for the price.

I got it. Wow, it's a big knife, not exactly for a pocket. It's about an inch thick. I'll be looking for a belt holder to carry it in.
Seems nicely constructed. Lockup is solid, and the blade is about 3/16" thick, with little flex. It is sharp on arrival.

I lost my Kershaw Launch 4 while I was at work. So to replace it I ended up picking up a Pro-Tech Half Breed today. The full size grip feels waaay better! I like that it already comes with a deep conceal clip.

Picked up a Doug ritter in 20cv super steel to join the rotation and possibly replace the zt 350. Smooth action good lock up. Only complaint is i doing really like the texturing on the scales. It's g10 but it feels cheap and hope compared to my zts. Other than that though no complaints. I like the idea of buying a bench made without supporting a bunch of traitors like bench made.
