They had lots of clothing items, holsters, FS targets, etc. The mark up on stuff is pretty steep, though. Even with 40% Ambassador/Diamond membership discount, you can get them cheaper elsewhere, except for clothes with FS logo of course.

I'm saving my last $50 for the yearly background check.

That's what I did this year. Hopefully they have some 5.11 pants or similar. Not interested in the FS logo stuff.

During the training day when lunch is about to be let out, the instructors inform everyone about it and
Then sometime at lunch you go to the specific range to shoot.
If I remember correctly it was 40.00 a magazine.

Yup full auto MP5, Uzi and M16. A lot cheaper than the places on the strip.
What is really cool is if your kids are taking the Youth courses, they get to shoot the Uzi and you don't even have to pay for the ammo!

Usually just on Day 1, at Range 2 (the same place you do the weapons inspection).

Be sure to check for prices around the net before you buy at the Pro Shop. As I said, even with the 40% Ambassador discount, you may still end up paying more. Unless you have oodles of Ambassador bucks, LOL

Latest news. There will be a video coming out that commemorate the ground breaking and construction start of the hotel and other development. Should be out in...

"We received the dust control permit yesterday, which means the grading permit will be used Tuesday. Grade staking has been going on for a week or so already. Dozers will begin moving dirt next week.

Building 25 more ranges immediately on phase 3 because underground infrastructure for hotel, condos, conference center will temporarily obstruct ranges on phase 1 and 2. Will send video explaining it all next week."

More shooting ranges would significantly deviate from the plans on the website. There are no new ranges on this plan:

So it seems the master plan has changed.

I am guessing the new ranges will be in the area of Rifle 3, past M16 and Jurassic Canyons. Anyone see where all the equipment was heading?

Thanks, acegunnr, I thought I had seen that map before but I did not remember it.

Glad to see he is not getting rid of the canyons to shoot in.

So the new shooting ranges are roughly where the current Rifle 3 range sits. It's a long way to the Comfort Station LOL.

More tactical simulation bays? Just hope he makes them rifle round capable

Wow!!!! How cool is that! That alone would be worth the trip to FS!

I hope they give you enough time at lunch. I might want to do all three!

Yea all the Pro Shop $ are the Ambassador dollar for dollar match. I would not buy anything with my own money since all of it is over priced. This is all on him. Last time I picked up a couple Mega lowers, sent them to CA all on him. With the 40% discount the were at retail.

Yea, Day 1 isn't that high stress.
You'll have plenty of time to eat after the mandatory evening classroom session.

Hello, How do I be sure I am in the same group as a friend. We would like to be paired up for a four day pistol class. Also what about wearing shorts during the class? Going in may. Thank you for your time.

-just let them know when you check in. Should not be a problem. Sometimes pairing up will limit what you learn in the class, especially for spouses. For the basic four-day class there is no positional shooting so shorts are fine with closed-toe shoes. Other classes you may want knee/elbow pads. Also realize that depending on the time of year, temps/conditions can change quickly.

when you show up at FS, make sure you group up before you sign in. when you get to the front of the line, let the person who is directing you to the windows that you are together and they'll send you to a window together and you'll be assigned the same range.

As for Shorts, no problem for a pistol class, you'll be standing for 4 days, no kneeling or going prone. I'd suggest bringing spare pants incase the weather is unusually bad that time.

Has anyone ever counted how many e mails you get? From 3/12 till today I got a total of 83. Thinking I'm just going to get my name off the list!

I just have an Outlook rule that moves all my Iggy emails into a Frontsight folder and then I look at it at my convenience and see if there is anything important in there. I can glance at the emails quickly and see that we are still on the "H" offer since November! and then just ignore it. I did notice that Iggy has started recycling email subjects recently.

Hey guys I got back from front sight last Friday. I had a blast! Out of 40 people only six got graduate, nobody got DG. I did pretty good out there and was one of the six that got the Graduate seal on the certificate. I made it to the final round of the Man on Man but I lost. I was so disappointed that lost that round. Several people went up to me and told me I was a good shooter and they had fun seeing me shoot. That made me feel a little better after losing.

I was so disappointed that lost that round. Several people went up to me and told me I was a good shooter and they had fun seeing me shoot. That made me feel a little better after losing.
Last time I was there, I didn't miss any of the paper target shooting, had only 1 malfunction issue (dropped my mag) and didn't DG. The guy next to me who won the Man-on-Man only missed 1 paper shot and I believe 1 malfunction step as well.

We were joking that we might DG. He said it was his 3rd time and he has not DG yet. After the class, we both came to the conclusion that it may be fixed and that they don't really want you to move on to fast. Out of the 2 times up there, I have not seen one DG and there have been some pretty good shooters.

I recently found a training company local and it offers way better training. They have entry level just like FS. 2 & 4 day DHG, and their level II courses have movements, cover and positions, one-hand malfunction. You have to qualify to move on to the next course. As you move on, the qualification gets a little tougher.

So FS with the guys for a fun trip. When I want to train seriously, I will be staying local.

I've been there 5 times, and every time someone DG'ed. 2 4-day HG classes, multiple DGs both time (my friend DG'ed both times), 1 4-day rifle class (again, my friend DG'ed as did a couple others), 2 day rifle skill builder (I DG'ed that class along with ~15 others that day), 4-day shotgun class (2 people DG'ed that class).

And yes, I do agree that they don't want people to advance too quickly (bad scheduling for skill builder classes that are mainly during the week when offered) but I wouldn't say that it is fixed.

I wonder how much the monument with all the "founding members" names will cost? I'm guessing by now it will much larger than the vietnam war memorial.
