Yes they are coming into stock at certain retailers. And some others have place holder pages. I'd like to see the mags come into stock before I spring for the rifle. Shooing 1 mag and having to reload is the worst.

Plinking is just not my style of shooting.

My club does a 2 gun rimfire match and it would be fun to use an MP5 for that.

I saw that, but they only had the 25 round mag version and their website says they will remove the mags if sending to restricted states.

I think it would be worse having one with no mags, then not having one at all.....stupid mag restrictions.....

They had two 10rd versions which sold. Wish we could get 10/25, the 10rd looks really funny!

10/25 would be the best. My local FFL would pin it for me if I can get it to him with a 25, but seems like most places won't do that. The 10s look a little small for handling in and out of a mag pouch.

Are the 10 round mags shorter? All the ones I have are the same size as the 25 round ones. I have quite a few of both because of "freedom week" lol.

The original 10 round mags were full length.

Genuinely curious. Does it really matter if it looks ridiculous? Can't see the clipazine when you're looking down the sights.

If you're spending the money for an MP5 replica you'd want it to at least _look_ like one. Given that the previous release had 10 round mags look identical to the 25 round mags there was no reason to make it physically shorter other than to placate government officials...

If you value function over cosmetics, you can just get a Ruger 10/22 and be done with it. But that's not the core reason someone gets a HK-licensed MP5 22lr...

AFAIK...
The change was an internal decision to address packaging and inventory control issues that occurred when they offered the 10/25 round magazines.
^There were instances where 25 round magazines were accidentally packaged as 10 round magazines by the magazine subcontractor and shipped/sold in States (CA, CO, NJ, NY) with magazine capacity limits.

Got it, makes sense. Funny, kinda the reason I was thinking hard on this... then practical me said, "meh, I've got 2 10/22s, and this will probably be less accurate".

Unless the ergonomics of it are somehow better than a 10/22, just not in the budget for me.

Subscribed to the "notify me" when back in stock at Riflegear. At 1:00pm today when I happened to be on my laptop, it went "ding". Email that it is back in stock.

Immediately hit the link provided and bought one. When I was done, I went back to check the remaining stock and it said "sold out". They had 3 when I started the buy process.

Sportsmans has the 25rd model added to their website just today, listed at $419. No stock yet and no listing for the 10rd yet.

No mp7, no care.

Regret selling the 416, thing was reliable and ate everything. Only downside it was too heavy. Might pick this up.

If this re-issue is anything like the first one, it should be just as reliable. I've got at least 10,000 rounds through my Walther MP5 at this point and it is just as rock solid as my Glock 19. No issues with ammo (golden bullets, Federal, Thunderbolts, CCI, etc).

that.... why isn't HK making a .22lr version of the MP7? it is nearly perfect for it.

Federal importation laws would prohibit it from being imported into the USA for civilian sale.

The design would need to be modified, so that it meets the legal requirements of either a Title 1 Handgun or a Title 1 Rifle.
~Title 1 Handgun = MP7A2 with no stock.
~Title 1 Rifle = MP7A1 or MP7A2 with stock and barrel length of 16+" and overall length of 26+".

Fun fact...
When H&K originally licensed Umarex to make them variants of H&K firearms, the licensing allowed Umarex to make airsoft and .22LR versions of the HK416, G36, MP5, and MP7.
Umarex/Walther was unable to prototype a reliable .22LR MP7 for the civilian market, so they only made airsoft versions of the MP7.

It’s been awhile since I have had these two out.

My buddy bought through palmetto and it sounds like his rifle is in transit now, and I’ll get a chance to compare the two versions soon.

I'm interested to see the mag when you get it. I like a longer mag so I can grab it a little easier and I thought the 10 rounders were really short.
