Default AR-15 barrel cutting in NorCal?

Does anyone know of a gunsmith in NorCal that does barrel cutting and pin/welding of AR-15 barrels? Looking for someone primarily in Santa Clara County, but anywhere in NorCal is fine

Don't know of anyone local to you however if you are willing to ship your barrel out for work, I can't recommend John Thomas/Retro Arms Work highly enough. Top notch work with near invisible welds, reasonably priced and with lightning quick turnaround.

I would think buying a new barrel and selling the old one used would be more cost effective.

Ya I?d think cutting, threading, and crowning would cost more than just selling barrel and buying new desired length. Idk anyone up north, but if you love your barrel I?ll be the first to say send it to Randall even though not in No Cal.

I have a hacksaw if you want to borrow it.

Or maybe just replace the barrel.

if you can't find a gunsmith inside/outside your county, send it to ar15 (randall). i've sent less than a dozen to him and very satisfied with his work. or just get a new barrel.

That only works if someone manufactures a barrel the exact length you want.

Some people want to get a barrel to an exact length with their exact muzzle device perm attached to be as short as legally possible.
I can go as short as 16.030" finished length but I usually stick to 16.1" finished length so there's no question of legality should the barrel ever be actually checked by law enforcement.
Some people want a flash can to be set as close as possible to the handguard to make a rifle look like an MP5SD.
This absolutely requires a custom length.

There are rarely barrels available that are the correct length for these people.
Custom cutting the barrel to an exact non-standard length is the solution.

If you can't find someone local I use and recommend Morgan over at Class3 Machining. He does anywhere from 20-60 barrels a day with a turnaround time of 5-7 days. He usually gets my stuff out within 3 days. His prices are good and he does high quality work.
