Default Project Appleseed Sacramento

Are youth welcome to participate in project appleseed events this year? It seems most clubs are allowing youth to come back after the uncertainty last year, but I don't see anything regarding project appleseed.

Hoping to attend with my two boys this spring.

I received a response from the appleseed website today saying no minors allowed at any California Appleseed events.

The gentleman who responded was from Texas, so if anyone from the local Appleseed Project has conflicting info, then feel free to post it here.

Project Appleseed is not at this time allowing anyone under 18 at events due to the current laws. I have not received any new info. If that changes I will post it.

I'm very sorry for this as we enjoy having youth and families on our lines.

Other states are still allowing youth on their lines.

That's sad, they are always so eager to learn and enthusiastic about the history.

I know. I am hoping there will be more "clarifying" language that will allow us to have them out again.

Such a bummer. My 16 year old really wanted to bring his girlfriend to an Appleseed this year. I was gonna sign them up until I read this. Gavin Newscum really is a piece of ****.

There should be some events coming up in Grants Pass, OR if you are up for a road trip. Not posted yet as they are waiting for range ok.

That is a really nice range too.

It's unfortunate that Project Appleseed isn't allowing minors, but it is understandable as it doesn't have the resources to fight a lawsuit.

That being said, AB 2571 is clearly about marketing to minors.
The work around is to market to the parents of minors.

One of our local clubs still has an active competitive youth match program, and recently trained a Cub Scout troop.

I’ve got a little Blue due this weekend. I’m not sure my wife will let me out for a road trip lol

Congrats!

I don't expect to see the first Grants Pass events until May or June.
