I've been carrying a few different "assisted open" knives, not sure if I like them that much, seem to be solutions looking for problems.

I was carrying a ZT 0456BW for the longest stretch I've stuck to one knife in a while... but recently went back to my 0452CF. I guess I missed it. Both are Sinkevich designs.

Well I decided on the M16-01KS. It's the plain edge with hollow grind and spear point. I considered Ontario Rat 2, various Kershaw options, a few other CRKT options. Considered a Buck 110 USA made. I considered a KA-BAR folder too. The last time I was in the market for a lower end EDC the market seemed dominated by Taiwan made and the steel that was most popular was the AUS stuff from Japan. Now everything at this price point is Red Chinese with the 8Cr Chinese steel. Next folder I buy for the collection will be Sandvik or 400 series.

I have a ti-lite made by cold steel out of Taiwan for many years and it has never failed me yet. It is beat up, ugly now, and seen a lot of service but like Timex she keeps on working.

I have carried a wide variety from Spyderco, KaBar, Kershaw, Buck, Gerber etc. Comes down to size and cost if lost, broken what have you. I have found a cheap Big five flipper is best for me and if lost etc, its no big deal. Also got tired of the bigger knives wearing holes in my pants pockets.

Tried a number of knives - favorite so far is: Spyderco Endura 4 Lightweight Folding Knife - Gray FRN Handle with PlainEdge, Saber Grind, VG-10 Steel Blade and Back Lock - C10PGYW
Also bought a Ripple conversion kit to try to convert a standard knife to a Emerson wave function knife.
"EMERSON OPENER - Designed by Ernest Emerson, it is a small integral hook on the spine of a knife's blade that catches on the edge of the pocket as the knife is drawn. The hook pivots the blade into the open position." Try a knife with the Emerson wave feature - very convenient and fast. Also can be used as a bottle opener!

Hmm... according to that site:

Designer: Kirby Lambert
Ti Connector Custom Hardware
Made in China

I just looked at some of his custom knives that are for sale at Arizona Customs and something tells me etwinam's is not the mass produced Chinese model. Thanks for the maker's information though. I'll check into this more now. It is probably time to step up into something fancier.

Reate/ lambert Crossroads collab....it is discontinued as a special run. I think only a few hundred were made.

Chris Lambert makes this knife in custom but its $2500+, this is the production model that runs around $375.

I have the blade show exclusive micarta version so I've been carrying this one with no scratches of yet. Its more of my fancy weekend carry haha.

It's one hell of a knife. Sharp as a razor and M390 hollow ground blade with titanium frame lock handle and marbled cf.

Let me know if you're interested in buying one, I may part with this one since i have another if you want.

Lol I was just linking the one I can afford. The mass produced model is still very nice with a great blade.

What David Deng has done with machining at Reate is really impressive. He has managed to create a high quality production knife at a midpriced offering with premium materials and unmatched precision. I've handled customs that don't hold a candle to Reate's work. Hope you find your knife sir!
