Just FYI: Showed up at 3pm on a Weekday after my 10 days, was in and out within 25 minutes.

If you’re COVID sensitive, some of the employees weren’t covering their faces.

Just make sure you’re in the correct line. Some upset customers were waiting in the wrong line, wasn’t there to see who’s fault it was.

The one I go to uses "take a number" system... they announce next up number over intercom (in case you are roaming the store for boots, camping gear, shtf garb, etc)...

So the Corona one has that system specifically for customers there to BEGIN their DROS, separate line for pickup. Hence my comment regarding make sure you’re in the right line because 3 people in front of me were there to start their DROS.

I get the confusion. When you get to the rear gun counter they ask, “Are you here for ammo, DROS, or pickup?” There are so many new gun owners that they just assume pickup, get in the pickup line, get to the front and have no idea what the 10 day period is. Literally every customer said, “Well I bought it online and I’m here to pick it up”.

A few of them did not know about the FSC either.

Ya I saw the same thing when I was there last week, so many were confused about the “pick up” line. Also a few of them didn’t know about secondary identifications and ppl worked there were making fun of them. We should encourage new gun owners by helping them understand the process not to make fun of them. And that blonde girl behind the counter without mask ...

Sold a gun today at SW in Rancho Cordova. Would have been 15 minutes total inside store but new gun owner forgot 2nd proof of residency. Staff was really helpful and patient. He had to buy a fishing license. Lesson learned since he came from SJ. Staff has always been excellent going there for just about everything last year.

we don't do DROS or FSC here... just counter, take number, number called, do your transaction (including background check if no CCW) and gone...

I realize it's different there (I did it for years)... but wasn't clear that they were using number system in your initial post.

That is the LE with the fixed choke. SKU J131T18LE

The SKU in the OP is J131T18C and has the screw-in Optima choke system.

So it is cheaper, but whether it is a better deal is debatable, especially after transfer fees. There aren't many cheap transfer FFLs these days in CA. Many are raising transfer prices lately.

Orange seems to work best for me, but yellow does pop too. And at night these things glow like a Chernobyl special.

Factory Ghost ring rear w/ no tritium. In anything other than very dark conditions the ghost ring sort of appears as a halo around the tritium front post.

Otherwise when you use the rail light, the tritium becomes pretty much invisible anyhow and both front/rear are very usable.

The front night sight would only be for close shots if it was too dark to see the rear and I could not use my rail mounted light for some tactical reason. Basically at that point it is just a bead sight - get a cheek weld and put the ball on the target. Last resort type stuff but hey it's one more tool in the bag. I have the same setup on my HD Benelli.

I'm thinking of getting that front sight you posted - and rear tritium (mepro, or similar)... for M4

I use a rds (w/scalarworks rail, so its cowitnessed)... so I wonder how they would play together?... should be fine I think.

I mainly got it for daytime use and last ditch at night. I have a Streamlight rail mounted light with remote switch, and if I ever had to use the gun at night I'd be using that light if at all possible, in which case the tritium is washed out and becomes invisible anyhow. But in total darkness, I'll take being able to see the front sight on a shotgun over seeing no sights

As a reminder, I believe 2nd proof of residency can be current auto registration, which is nice if one drives their own car there as it will usually be with them in the glove box.

The alerts for Sportsmans are useless, I had to keep checking their site at all hours. Based upon previous posts it seems they become available after 10pm. I checked at 10ish and OOS then at midnight it was in stock. Good luck.

Out of stock. Been wanting one of these for a while.

Wondering what the difference is between the "black polymer" and "black synthetic" versions other than price?

"Black polymer" = Gen 1
"Black synthetic" = Gen 2

Wondering what the difference is between the "black polymer" and "black synthetic" versions other than price?

I curse you!!!!

I've been sitting on ArmsUnlimited pistol grip version - forcefully withholding from buying... I convinced myself that if an FDE comes available, it will match my ARX100 and APX 9mm...

Now you've put me in a pickle - I really, really don't need another damn gun

Nah, OD Green would be a nice contrast to your FDE ARX and APX.
