Since my packet was all stamped with their numbers, do I keep my place in line or do I get sent to the back of the line?

I have my AZ permit and in Sept. we will be moving to Prescott. Question: Does anyone know of a website like CALGUNS that caters to the AZ gun laws discussion?

Arizonagunowners.com
Not many members, but a good forum. Not as politically correct as here.

How long did it take for you guys who applied recently to receive the application packet from the date you were notified by email that the application had been sent out to you? I've searched this thread and Calguns a good bit but haven't found much.

From what I have seen, you will be put back in where yours left off in the process. Won't have to wait the week in limbo.

Expect the packet to arrive to you in about 4-5 days after you receive the notification.

Please explain why you think that a firearm has to be "registered in your name" to legally carry it? That isn't even a state law (but it can be an IA's policy) in CA, let alone NV, AZ or most other states.

Application Packet requested - 6/26
Application Packet received - 7/03
Application Mailed - 7/03

Had some free time today before the holiday tomorrow and was able to get my prints done and send everything out. Received my application packet in the mail, went to a local UPS store for the fingerprinting and my bank for a cashier's check. Though I've never had my prints rolled before, seemed as though the employee did a bit of a rough job, and also slightly broke the box that the prints are supposed to be confined to on a couple of them. Hopefully it's a non-issue. Also, instructions say to print clearly in all caps and black ink for the application/fingerprint cards but I assumed the exception is to sign your actual signature where it says signature, of course, yeah?

Sent certified mail so I could track everything. Because tomorrow is the 4th of July, the app will actually go out Wednesday 7/5. I'll update my timeline as I'm updated. Not much more American than the free state of Arizona looking out for us over here in California. I'll be toasting to AZ DPS tomorrow. Enjoy your 4th everyone.

Congrats. 33 days is great. It looks like some people on here received theirs in close to 3 weeks, which is incredible. Smart getting on this now if it's done for the purpose of reciprocity because when/if National Reciprocity passes, I have a feeling there will be a much longer wait.

This Company periodically has classes in So.Cal. they also provide printing at the class for additional $10.00
Took class on 6-10-17 in Camarillo, sent in paperwork on 6-12-17, permit issued on 7-13-17, received on 7-15-17
I am NOT promoting this Company just providing info...

$79 for that class, plus $10 print fee, plus AZ fee of $60 to be mailed.

I have a question for the CA CCW permit holders. Does the class taken through the IA's here in California (...ex. SBSD qualification class) nullify the requirement to take an additional class for the non-resident AZ CCW?

If the CA CCW class was taught by an NRA-certified instructor, and his/her NRA number is on the certificate, then yes that is all you need.

If you have already gotten your CA CCW, then a copy of that would also work, in lieu of the class certificate.

As 'cockednglocked' stated, yes. I took my initial Orange County CCW qualifier class last month, along with an extra hour for the Arizona permit. Sent in the Arizona packet containing my OC class certificate, application, and prints....two days after the class.

My OC interview isn't until Aug.31, so I'll likely have my Az. permit before the Cali one.

You can already carry there. No permit needed to carry open or concealed in AZ.
