i have to have those warning stickers on there if i want to use the laser at the shooting range, and also any laser emitting device needs to have those on there, its state law.

What range do you go to?

I'd like to see that exchange:

+ Sir, does that laser have a radiation exposure sticker and warning on it?
- Yes I do but it's on the frame of the pistol
+ I'm sorry, it has to be attatched on the laser itself, you'll have to leave
- Really?
+ Yes, at "JOE SCHMOE DIRT BAG" we value YOUR safety to laser radiation and is doing this for YOUR own good.
- Well as long as your looking out for my safety
+ Oh yes on your way out please deposit your dignity and manhood in the bucket, have a good day.

From what I know it's only there as a warning to potential consumers, once you buy you can do whatever you want with it. And seriously? It's a GUN, if your worry about someone giving you grief over some safety sticker for YOUR property you need a big *** sign that saids "AVOID the .40 slug coming out of this end!"

I have never heard of such law requiring the use of stickers. Please feel free to post which PC discusses this.

You should be very careful with those mattress tags, too; you can go to jail.

I'm certain they're required to have them on there for sale. I'm certain that, if you're in the workplace, a laser is required to have a warning (OSHA). I'm unaware of criminal code requiring consumers to keep warning labels on their products.

You'll shoot your eye out.

not sure man, it sounds like bull**** to me too, but i asked a cop about it too and even he said, if a weapon has a laser on it, it must carry those stickers. believe me i don't like having them on my gun at all. but thats what i was told.

Very Nice!

My favorite pistol is my Gray Guns tuned 226 Equinox. I also picked up a .357 Sig and 9mm Bar-Sto barrel for it.

And what happens after it's been cleaned a few times and solvent wipes out those labels?? Do you write the factory and get new ones or does the factory have to install them? My Crimson Trace never came with labels, but then I got it back in the ‘90’s. I wonder if it’s grandfathered?

Sticker should really say "if you see this laser light shining in your eye, the bright light is the least of your worries, friend..."

thanks m8, its very fun to shoot, me and my wife love it, especially after the addition of the sprinco recoil reducer, it made the gun much more fun to shoot. i highly recommend it.

There is no PC that states that and therefore would make it impossible to arrest and charge you for it

I would leave them on. The safe way is always the best way.

In CA you never know what the laws are and even if you have not broken any laws, the CA_DOJ will still find ways to get you in trouble. They will make you take a plea bargain even if you did nothing wrong. Don't believe me? Look at Matt_Corwins case... he was completely innocent but yet still fighting the legal battle.

When I lived in CA I was very cautious, I was even afraid I might get arrested for using double ply toilet paper (some I brought over from New Hampshire).

From when I worked in special effects some years ago I recall the owner of the company did mention that a Federal Agency has jurisdiction over lasers and the radiation that they emit and it was and most likely still is called "Bureau of Radiological Health"

I did a Google search but couldn't find the specific regulation that governs lasers.

But I do remember that specific fines are levied when the Warning labels aren't attached to the laser.

Lasers are governed by both Center for Device and Radiological Health (CDRH), which is under the FDA, and ANSI (American National Standards Institute). Both of these regulate what has to be done in the workplace and for sale. I doubt they apply to end users.

You can search more here:
http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/

and here:

Nice looking piece, I have the P226 stainless in .40cal with added lasser grip and I will not be putting the labels on.
I also carry a .357 stubby with lasser grip and won't put them on that either.
If I need to use it, it will not matter if the labels are on there or not only that the business end is working.

The Sprinco recoil reducers...what kind of loads are you putting in? The warning says it shouldn't be used with standard ammo?
