I drew for Saturday. Only shot dove down there. Any advise on pertinent things?? Parking, lines, timing, etc.
#72. Sounds, not so great to me. But, again, never been. Might just go to give my partners new dog a workout. (He’s doin great for his first season!!) |

they've numbered all the ponds since I was there last, reservation system must have changed. used to be rezzies got in line by arrival, not number. I wonder if they have the full Wister system there.
anyway, since I'll never go back you should get some shooting out of parking lots 17 and 22. GL

Mendota is huge. So, you should be able to get a decent spot. There will be no shows, so your #72 will probably be closer to 60. Been a while since I hunted there, but we liked pond 41.2 out of parking lot 2. I shoots pretty well in the afternoon. We used to hunt a club in the morning and go there to fill our limits in the afternoon. This time of year there are usually canvasbacks hitting that pond in the evening.
Last time I was there, you lined up by reservation number. |
