Anybody make one like the old Bsquare or Kleinendorst? I have to put one in wood stock and can’t stand crooked or chips etc., maybe just take to a smith??

I have never used a jig for that job.
I just stand the stock up in the milling machine vise and drill a pilot hole. Use a freshly sharpened drill bit, run it fast and you don't get any chipping of the edge of theb hole. Milling machine keeps it square.

Unless you plan on installing a lot of slings, just take it to a smith.
