Default In search of a gunsmith that can work on colt revolvers

I have a buddy looking to get his 1901 Colt New Army .38 Long repaired- I was able to track down the parts that were necessary but the gunsmith that I normally use has sat on the gun for 2 years with no signs of wanting to work on it.

We live in the bay area so if you have suggestions on who might be able to do the hand fitting necessary for a hand and sear it would be a real treat for this lovely piece- it?s an heirloom.

PM me if you please

You could try Ken Brooks at PISCO in Coquille, Oregon.
There is a reason why:

A: It's almost impossible to find anyone wanting to work on one, and
B: Colt quit making them and came out with a better model.

This whole family of Colts are possessed. Their first swing out cylinder design. They tend to self-destruct with respect to timing, and key replacement parts are long gone.

You might also try Frank Glen in Phoenix.
Whatever you do, avoid "The Custom Shop" in Hamilton, Montana like the plague.
