It's pretty difficult finding a FFL in Los Angeles who offers this service at a reasonable price.
Most quotes I've received were $100-180. Not including DROS fees. Just them receiving the shipment only. (For a C&R Handgun that wont even stay in their safe for 24 hours after they get it.) Is this a normal price that people pay when buying a gun from out of state? |

Yes, it’s normal. Some, mostly table top FFL,’s might be cheaper but you’ll need to burn time and fuel to get to them. Brick and mortar stores have overhead in or to stay open. Rent, employee costs, insurance etc.

Well, I gave Adam's Armory a ring in Santa Clarita. $80. Lowest price near me so far. (Northern LA County)
Orange Coast Auctions in Anaheim reached out and said they charge $50. Would definitely go with them if I lived a bit closer. |

Walser’s used to be way cheap (too cheap in my opinion), last time I called I think they quoted $125. I’ve just been swallowing the drive to see Dave and crew at Shoot SoCal. Has to be the best place around for knowledge and lack of BS.

Alamo Pawn - West Covina is charging $60 + DROS
Ace's also in WC is a couple bucks higher. Balance the fee you pay adding in your drive time and fuel costs. Sometimes if cheaper to pay more closer to home than make the 2 trips. |
