I believe that will be gone as soon as they finalize this purchase.
I'm always happy to share tips / advice with fellow shooters and once FS is officially gone, ask away. I'd be happy to answer any questions I can.

one interesting tidbit (and I saw it mentioned in one of the FS FaceSpace groups)

Instructors are receiving offer letters from PF. It's basically stating they'd like to retain them and are asking the instructors to respond back by a certain deadline if they're interested.
I know lots of great staff members have left recently but I hope the guys that still want the opportunity will be given a chance. As with most jobs there'll be a probationary period for them to evaluate them.

should be interesting to see how this plays out.

I guess we'll see what the 2 yrs free actually means. Will it be actual training or just a day at the range?

Looks like the Bankruptcy Court has formally approved the sale to PrairieFire.

Order entered today, sale will be effective December 1, 2022

Yup, seems like that's a wrap for FS.

So what do we rename this thread to now?
Thinking Front Sight Alumni or something like that.

Anyone planning on going to PF next year?

I will definitely shoot at PF next year.

Have been shooting at FS for the past 20 years, and live under 1 hour away.

I am glad that "Gun People" came in to replace Front Sight rather than the land/ranges lay dormant or some developer take the property.

They are putting in upwards pf $25-$30 Million in capital for this deal.

My initial take is that they may be a bit too competition focused for my taste, but I will give them the full benefit of the doubt to SHOW ME what their vision is and I will definitely TRY their classes in 2023.

Their literature shows some dollar figures for future upscale memberships, but it appears to me that they have made it so that existing/previous Front Sight members will be able to try out classes for the next 2 years for modest fees. They are not requiring any big payments up front to go out there and shoot.

It will certainly cost more than a "free FS class", but less than a Gunsite Class (and I have taken 3 of those in the past year and a half).

Each of us will certainly make our own analysis and choices - I do NOT wish to persuade anyone or argue, nor do I wish the opposite.....

Then there is the "Clean up in Aisle 3" - meaning January 9th, 2023 of Greatly reducing Claims and/or disallowing many Members and Claims. It is all Procedural at this point. It's like a variation of the Titanic, only this time we saved the Ship and Not the People.

In retrospect, and with the 20/20 hindsight, it would have been smart to give up can get paid by FS when this all started to go down earlier in the year. Those folks that got paid and kicked out, at least got their money back, so to speak.

I was one of the lucky ones, paid least amount I could in 2010-2011 for my @14+ classes. Being in the private security industry I would try to go twice a year. Found the instructors I had to be very competent!! I complained about the restructuring and was banned and eventually refunded all my money.
Will return to Gunsite and continue training and possibly compete in USPSA and IDPA at Richmond R & G Club.
I don't think PF/FS II is in my future.

I also hope all on this forum were not affected by his b.s.

Is I.P. getting paid his "consultation / transformation" fee?
Is he on board with P.F.?

He had to get some more money one way or another. It's not like he had hotels or condos to burn down for the insurance money.!

For what it's worth, I am guardedly optimistic about PrairieFire moving forward. They met with us (FS staff) on Thursday, Dec. 1, and laid out the basics of a plan moving forward. They intend to retain the original curriculum untouched (except all references to FS, Iggy, and Ackman will be removed) until at least mid-April next year. Classes will start back up Dec. 9. The FS website is down until they get a revamped schedule posted, and hopefully that will be redirected to PrairieFire to minimize confusion.

I wondered why they built a house for Brad on the property. When I read about the bankruptcy, I thought that Iggy and Brad knew things were coming to an end and maybe tried to transfer the land to Brad on paper because that was his "residence" in an attempt to keep the land.

Ackman didn't know the true state of FS's financials.
The house was built to entice Brad to go back to FS Nevada and oversee the day to day operations.
only Iggy knew how bad things really were

From all the stuff I've read in the articles (were you the author of those on that website, I forgot), Ackman was a real douche to the staff. Can't imagine him getting a job in the firearms industry moving forward.

Email from PrairieFire.

They will be running "Legacy Frontsight-style" classes from Dec - April 2023 for a fee of $100 per day. They will transition to PrairieFire Class in April.

I have not seen a schedule of classes posted yet....

I didn't interact much with Brad other than large staff meetings. He always had that used sales car guy vibe to him.
And nope, I was not the shooter on the grassy knoll...err...mystery author.

Brad was good for stuff like the youtube videos and the occassional lunch time lecture, he enjoyed the stage but 1:1, it was different for students / staff.
I can see why she probably didn't like him.

They are offering the basic handgun, shotgun and rifle classes. You an see the dates these classes are offered in your MyFrontSight account under courses. Click on the course name to see the dates available. Course dates aren't on the regular webpage anymore.

There is nothing in your account. Only thing that should be in there are a list of the courses you've taken in the past and under another tab it will say you have a Legacy membership. All the other tabs are now blank.

Yep, it's gone now.

I called yesterday and the gentleman I spoke to walked me through it. There were a list of courses under the "Courses" tab, and then when you clicked on the course the dates offered popped up on the right. I just checked now and the courses that were there yesterday are now gone and that section is blank aside from it saying, "Course Offerings Available Soon!"

I have been given the approval to reinstate most of the banned members. This will take some time. It will also be less than 100% effective depending on how you were banned and how long ago you were banned. Bottom line, give it a week and try to reset your password via the sight and the email address we have on file for you. If you can’t reset your password, give us a call and a Concierge can reset it for you. Additionally, some of you may need to call in to get your membership put back in your account. I won’t be able to automate that for everyone. Regardless, this will be an imperfect process that, aside from ridding your records of the “banned” status, will take time to implement. Please bear with anyone you talk to on the phone. Most of them will only be able to forward your request to a manager. But the process is starting tonight.

Yep, I had him as an RM when I was a student. He's also an HGCM. I'm glad he stuck around. His wife is pretty cool too.
