To OP,
I would highly recommend Aero Precision and buying direct from them. They frequently have sales and even more savings on blemished parts. Most importantly, their service is the best I've experienced. I did my first build and stripped the set screws for the gas block. I contacted AP for replacements and they sent me another set at no charge. As for assembled upper or assemble your own, you have to factor in the cost of proper tools. There really is no substitute for a proper upper vise block IMHO. AP is not the cheapest, but far from most expensive. AP is located in WA so shipping only takes 2-3 day in CA plus support hours are PT friendly. |

Lower
I'd buy all Aero lower, and then do: 1. MFT Battlelink Minimalist Stock Restricted State Compliant 2. Sparrow Ambi Safety, w/ a Safety Selector Long 3. It's entirely unnecessary to swap triggers, but for what it's worth I like BCM's PNT for an all-around carbine. Upper I'd buy an assembled upper. I'm fond of BCM's uppers (complete w/ their BCG and medium ambi charging handle), but Aero are also quite good. There are others depending on your budget. Then, simply swap out the flash hider / flash suppressor for another muzzle device. I'm particularly fond of both the Troy Claymore and SLR's linear comps. Hit me up if you have any questions. |
