Default M1A Socom 16 $1299 new

Just a service announcement, Palmetto State is running a shot show special. If you havenít seen it yet and wanted an M1a but didnít want to pay the high prices, you canít go wrong with this one. I donít remember seeing them this low for some time.

That’s a good price. A friend is looking for one. I’ll give him a heads up. Thanks OP.

Be advised that Palmetto State Armory seems to think these Springfield Armory M1A Socom 16 are not CA legal and will not ship them to CA.

Contact them before ordering it, so that they can get it sorted out.

Polytech's are scarce and more $$$.

There are reasons for that, you know.

Polytech receivers were forged, like a legit M14 or Garand receiver.
Springfield Armory are cast receivers.

People that want a real forged-receiver gun buy a Polytech and then install any milspec parts they might want on them.

Well its made on the same machines that built the USGI rifles.
The ones think sainc is the same as the national Armory.
Sainc are not even USGI spec and are cast so the poly are more in spec than "Sprongfield", yes some rifles left the factory with "Sprongfield" on the receivers.

The polys are no longer imported into the country for years now, but you might be talking the holosun fans.

Polytech never had "technical problems" with producing the guns.

Do your history homework on Springfield's "issues" on their cast receivers. They're simply imitation American firearms.

Make sure you buy a spare extractor or two.

Do you own an M1A, or just like to babble about them?

Well if it is only $1300 you should buy us all one.

It is crazy that we consider that affordable these days. I'm as guilty as anyone of overspending on guns. Most my ARs have twice that invested in them at least. Still, it's a ton of money.

The original machinery/tooling and technical package was sold to Taiwan in 1967, who then made the M14 as the Type 57.

The Chinese (Polytech & Norinco) versions were reversed engineered from captured American M14s and Taiwanese Type 57s.
During the 1970s, the Chinese made select-fire M14s to supply insurgent groups in order to make it look like Americans were arming those groups.
During the 1980s, the Chinese made semi-auto only M14s to sell on the world commercial markets (Canada, USA, etc).

Darn it! China made M14s and sold them in the US is a shame to the US. Who let them make such an American iconic rifle!
