will have to see what the wording ends up as. Most likely, it won't make any sense and be overly vague. Either that means someone challenges it and it'll get dumped, or they won't be able to actually enforce in any way except for those rare cases where it's an enhancement because they catch some felon running a homebuild shop for his fellow gang members (meaning someone who's already breaking existing firearm laws).

what could be more important than banning something that's already banned at the state, and city level?

They will get around to enforcing this right after they round up all the Antifa rioters, built thousands of low cost beach properties and give free medical to all the illegal aliens.

Well, defense distributed released their 0% receiver video today. Mill a solid block into a finished receiver, so no more 80%.

Most of what they are suggesting is nullified by State pre-empion laws on firearms. They can enforce certain laws prohibiting sales or supposed nuisance stuff, but not these more infringing matters on ownership/possession.
Their other nonsense is in duplicating State law; wasting their constituents' taxes. Has no teeth. Virtue signalling nonsense. ---

I read the entire article in the UT on this. And, I still had no idea what they could have been thinking. Even in a simple Glock there are over 50 parts. Did the Supervisors really think that all 50 of them have serial numbers?
And what about some random spring? If it breaks, I cannot buy a spring because it does not have a serial number? Or... Should all the springs have serial numbers??? I know that it is clearly crazy to us. But I am at a loss about how this was not crazy to ALL of them... Katie |

I can't seem to find the text of what they actually passed anywhere, but the last version I saw only had language regarding serializing frames/receivers, despite all the vague descriptions in the news about "parts".
On a related note, I saw a discussion from Michael Schwartz of SDCGO who said that this new law only applied in unincorporated areas of the county, not in cities. That seems quite odd and unlikely to me. Could that be true?

Yes, and government officials don't pay for anything related to their efforts, but gun owners do so it easy to see the long game.
When you pay the dog walker to walk your dog just so it can poop in your yard and then you have to pick it up too you lose both ways.

Does every part have a serial number? According to them, yes. Again, they don't know. Remember when they were banning +10 magazines somewhere, and there was that lady that said "when these things are used up, they'll no longer be a threat". She actually thought that mags were a one time use commodity, and that if their manufacture and sale were banned, no one would have them anymore.
