Default Folding pistol brace instead of fixed stock on a featureless build?

I am considering building a featurless Brownells BR180 by changing out the flash supressor for a brake, using a featurless grip like the Sparrows or BoAR and a fixed buttstock.

Then it occurred to me last night, what if I used a folding pistol arm brace instead of a buttstock?

Would that be legal? Legal but too risky? Completely illegal? ???

*of course what I really want to build is a 10" BR180 in 300 Blackout with a folding brace and a supressor.
