There are two private ranges near me: Mother Lode Gun Club and Angels Gun Club.

Mother Lode GC is quite expensive, and has a long wait list. Angels GC is open for new members, but the rifle and pistol ranges are somewhat primitive; their trap set up is excellent. Angels is not too expensive.

There are also some BLM areas where people shoot, but two of them are pretty trashed.

I plan to send a letter/ proposal to my county supes to see if there is a way for the county to create a public range. Most likely a long shot, but it's worth a try. There are lot of hunters and shooters up here who would appreciate a nice, and safe place to shoot.

Once I think this through a bit, I'll post here for input.

If I get to the Bay Area after USI opens, I'll partake in the rifle and pistol ranges. Should be fun!
