Matches Cancelled This Month Due to Inclement Weather and Road Conditions

CMP As-Issued Pistol Match - Sunday Jan 22, 2017
Starting Time 12:30pm:
Location: BRRC - Castaic, CA
CMP Service Pistol 40-shot 25-yd match

PURPOSE OF MATCH: The purpose of these matches is to provide an opportunity for new and beginning shooters to learn and practice conventional pistol shooting technique. While no instruction class will be offered at these matches, experienced coaches will be on the line to assist beginning shooters. This event will consist of two matches.

CMP As-Issued Pistol Course
This will be a 40 shot match conducted on a 25-yard firing range. The course of fire is as follows.

CMP As-Issued Stage 1. 25 yards, Standing with a one-hand or two-handed grip. 5 sighters + 10 rounds for record (5 + 5 with a reload) in a time limit of 10 minutes. NRA B-8 target.
CMP As-Issued Stage 2. 25 yards, Standing with a left single-handed grip. 10 rounds for record (5 + 5 with a reload) in a time limit of 5 minutes. NRA B-8 target.
CMP As-Issued Stage 3. 25 yards, Standing with a right single-handed grip. 10 rounds for record (5 + 5 with a reload) in a time limit of 5 minutes. NRA B-8 target.
CMP As-Issued Stage 4. 25 yards, Standing with a one-hand or two-handed grip. 10 rounds for record (5 + 5 with a reload) in a time limit of 70 seconds. NRA B-8 target.

Any pistol from 1st Edition Competition Rules for CMP Games Rifle and Pistol Matches, 2013 conforming to CMP Rules 4.4.4 may be used. Note that Rule 4.4.4 includes the As-Issued M9 and M1911 series pistols but excludes accurized Service Pistols. This match is meant to be shot with off the shelf firearms.

4.4.4 Military & Police Service Pistol - Pistols must be semi-auto pistols that are practical or suitable for issue as a military or police service pistols. The pistol must comply with the following requirements:

Pistol calibers cannot be smaller than 9mm nor larger than .45 cal.
Barrels may not be more than five (5) inches in length.
Pistols must have a single or striker action trigger pull of not less than 4.0 pounds (Glock and Springfield Armory XD pistols with barrels no longer than five (5) inches are permitted).
Pistols may not be match conditioned.
Pistols must be equipped with standard issue non-adjustable sights.
Ammunition used with Military & Police Service Pistols must be loaded with full metal-jacketed round nose bullets.


RULES: Current CMP Rules shall apply.

Competitors are responsible for providing their own firearms and ammunition for this match. This is a no-alibi match. Competitors are expected to ensure that their equipment is in good working order.

All competitors must use shooting glasses and hearing protectors.

START TIME: 1:00pm. Arrive at the range by 12:30pm for registration and squadding.

COSTS: Fee is $17.00 for adult non-members, $7.00 for adult members.
