gun studies aren't the problem, politicians who use and abuse them are.
The Dickey Amendment in 1996 stated "none of the funds made available for injury prevention and control at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) may be used to advocate or promote gun control." and modified in 2018 due to Azar's interpretation allowed for gun research but can't use government funds to promote gun control.
