Is this the rifle in question?

11MYTOYZ 07-05-2019 9:52 AM

Yes but it does not come with any magazine per CA law.
anyone has a spare?

wpage 07-05-2019 10:11 AM

CA Legal Mags. Kel-Tec PMR/CMR 10/30 magazines shows out-of-stock, but has waiting list you can be added to.

Check with audiophil2 as well

I would avoid Keltec. Innovative but low craftsmanship.

jarhead714 07-07-2019 6:55 AM

When it jams (and it will) hold it by the muzzle and beat the coyote with it. When you decide to sell it (and you will) don’t state the reason why you’re selling it.

Responding to Jarhead:

what happened to yours?what ammo were you using and if yours came with any magazine?A CMR30 or PMR?
Thanks!(Now i'm wondering if i should cancel my Riflegear order)

I’m just busting balls man. I never owned a PMR, but I did manage to break a SU 16 in half apparently by firing to many rounds out of it consecutively. The PMR as best I can tell from my reading doesn’t necessarily have a sterling reputation for reliability. I think that may perhaps have more to do with the .22 WMR round in semi automatic firearms in general however.

Kel-Tec makes some really cool guns, I just wouldn’t bet my life or safety on anyone of them.

Never looked into one before this thread. It’s got me interested, and wondering if anyone here has any real hands on experience with the CMR. I’d appreciate any input. I don’t mind keeping a weapon clean but if it’s going to be a jamomatic, I would prefer to avoid.

Internet reviews seem mixed.

Are there different generations? I’m assuming they have had a chance to address some of the issues by now. Also customer service?

SnWnMe 07-11-2019 7:13 AM

Wow, it costs more than a top shelf 10/22.

Rifle Gear does not keep too many in stock either.
It is AR15 money.I got to DROS it today and see it in person!

Does anyone recognize the muzzle brake?

joelukehart 07-24-2019 11:41 PM

So is 22wmr a rimfire? And if so it would't be an assault weapon right?

plumbum 07-25-2019 5:37 AM

Honestly, I never think of these - let us know reliability, looks like fun!

Yes, .22WMR is a rimfire cartridge and rimfire rifles are exempt from CA assault weapons laws.

Rimfire rifles are not exempt from CA SBR laws.

In order to be CA legal, it needs to have a minimum barrel length of 16" and it needs to have a minimum overall length of 26".

Overall length is measure with the rifle in the shortest possible firing configuration.
^Stock folded/collapsed.

From the factory the Kel-Tec CMR-30 has an overall length of 22.5", which makes it a SBR under CA laws.
For it to be CA legal with a minimum overall length of 26" or greater, either the stock is pinned in the extended position or a 4+" muzzle device is permanently attached to the barrel.

That EAA is hideous.

autoduel 07-26-2019 12:48 PM

I just threw up in my mouth.
Did they have a naming contest and ran with the most votes on social media?
My CMR is awesome, but the magazines need massaging and careful loading to be reliable, the rounds jam easily.

9mmrevolver 07-26-2019 1:09 PM

I have one. One of my favorites right now. The mags full of 30 rounds will jam. Too much flex in the mag. 20 seems to be the sweet spot. My buddy broke his firing pin after about 500 rounds. Customer service is hit or miss. Couldn’t get any males to help but the lady was nice took care of me.

If the Yote is that far away how are they a threat??
