I hunted pigs with some houndsmen one time a long time ago (post cat ban, but pre bear bans). Bastards can hike cross the country. This was well before GPS collars and such. Missing dog? Hike over ridges till you hear them at bay.

They carried a big knife and a big revolver. Most pigs never saw the revolver. Let the catch dogs wear down the pig, then grab a leg and cut an artery.

Friend that used to work at UTC rocket plant killed one with a rock. They (pigs) used to run around playing clean-up in the parking lot after lunch.
