Staccato CS for off-duty
Attachment 1125872
https://staccato2011.com/handguns-2/staccato-cs/ Anyone considering this newest Stac for off-duty carry (16+1)? I just saw the release yesterday and was wondering what the asking price will be. Who has the scoop? I'm not in a position to spend more money right now, but I'm dying to know how this new hotness will fair in the Staccato family. Is this even worth the consideration when a P365/X/XL/etc will carry that capacity with the appropriate 16-round mag? Seems chunky, and I know I have difficulty carrying IWB with something like this. Discuss! (Website now showing a $2499 MSRP) |
I think MSRP is around $2400. If you’re a fan of the 2011 platform it may be worth a look. Although a bit chunky I’m sure it still carries well IWB.

One of my buddies purchased one last night! He'll let me know how he likes it. For me the C2 is the perfect size but I'm glad the CS more capacity..
|
The C was a single-stack 3.9" barrel.
The C2 is a double-stack 3.9" barrel. This CS is a double-stack 3.5" barrel. Is the slide thinner than these standard 2011 width slides?? The PR machine says it's a bull barrel. Doubtful the slides dimensions include a slimmer slide. |

I have a S&W Shield in .45 that costs a fifth of the price of that pistol. Very accurate, stone reliable and easy to carry.
If I lived in Texas, maybe for a BBQ gun? |
SA Hellcat 9mm, 13 +1 for $498. Not knocking that beauty, but looking to save, there are cheaper alternatives. Love my Hellcat.

Although tempting, I might have bought one if I was still working. But now being well-into retirement, I must watch my budget extra-carefully.
My two G19gen5 and one G26gen3, along with a couple dozen mags for these specific Glocks. Note, a Staccato CS mag appears to go for ~$100/each. Although tempting, I will likely spend my pension elsewhere for now. I already spent a similar-to-CS-dollars on a 1911 earlier this year, however. Next year is coming up soon with a new personal budget:) |
I don't see what they're offering with this that they didn't already have covered with the C2. If they had made the grip shorter (like an officer's length), it would have been much more useful and different than the current lineup.
|
So that’s a pretty darn cool pistol, but I just bought a new gen5 26 for like $424 or something similar a year ago? Then with aftermarket sights and a pile of various size magazines I’m out of pocket about $650 total. I can’t justify this.
|
I am content with my Glock 19 Gen 3 or Glock 26 Gen 3 for EDC :oji:

Not interested in paying 2K for a off duty.

Tried to watch some videos on it. Noticed people will spend about 4 minutes talking about all the mods, aftermarket parts, who did their trigger, where they bought their comp, what optic they are running and how smooth the gun operates now. Soooo how does it run out of the box? Do you have to dump another 3K on a 2K carry gun for it to operate smooth? This is why I like Glock. You buy the gun, put some rounds in the mag and you are good to go.
|
There was a time I woulda said Hell yah! Then it occurred to me that in the event of a self defense shooting you will surrender said weapon to the “system” until the case is fully adjudicated. Could be years.
:( Do you really want to trust a 3k pistol to those knuckleheads when a Glock at 1/5 the price will do just as well? |
I just got the P for duty and want the CS FYI the hero’s program - if you lost it in a justified way ie OIS they replace it free.

I'll stick to my blue label 43x mos with shield mag 15+1 for $450

I have that with trijicon RMR VC and Sub7 light [emoji3590] that has been my favorite now second to staccato… once you shoot one you can’t go back… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I think it would be the perfect gun for a detective or someone on desk duty. Some guys will feel comfortable IWB and some wont. Think Glock 19, I cant conceal it but some can.
|
Personally, Staccato prices are insane for what you get. Yes I can afford it, but I choose not to buy one becasue I don’t think it would outperform my Glock 23, 32, 19 or other compact; nor my Glock 27, 26 or 33 (sub-compact) during a gun battle with a zombie.
But…. It doesn’t matter what I like, it’s what you like. You like it, then by all means get it. I’m just giving another opinion because the OP asked if anyone is considering it. |
3rd Staccato
I just ordered my 3rd Staccato, went with the C2 as the CS did not offer the same discount. Through the hero program as active LE you get 15% and 3 extra mags. I placed my order January 9th and got shipping notification yesterday the 24th. Impressed with the lead time as I upgraded the slide serrations, barrel and had it engraved with and EGA.
My first Staccato was the P Duo, ordered in February couple of years ago and it shipped to me in June. |
