My favorite defense load is Remington 9mm 115gr JHP 100 round value packs that I used to pick up at Wal-Mart for around $30 in years past. While not the best available it gets generally good reviews and I can afford enough of it to practice with in all my 9mm’s. Last night I was surprised to see three boxes of it back on the shelf at Wal-Mart for $36 each, which went right into my cart!

At the range the Rem 115gr JHP is accurate and 100% reliable in my LC9, Blackhawk Convertible, and Gen 4 G17, G19, & G26. It shoots to point of aim at 10-15 yards, in the Blackhawk it shoots 3” low due to it being sighted in for 357 Mag 158 gr LSWCs, and has a reported velocity of 1150 fps. The only down side is that it is loaded with a flashy powder comparable to Power Pistol, I get the same amount of flash shooting Federal 115gr JHP sold in the silver blue boxes as well so not an uncommon phenomena.

I also picked up 500 of the Remington 9mm 115gr JHP bullets from Midway and plan on working up loads using Power Pistol and the new BE-86.

Cheers,
