Now that they've stopped doing the flat rate shipping is it feasible to do distributor price group buys again...what do you guys think?

The 250 isn't bad but monthly is the hard part

How do these compare to, say, Hornady?

so... lets say this group buy does take off. who will collect the money ,distribute the bullets? sounds good but in reality it has all the ingredients to get ugly real fast...
what about talking to xtreme and try to get them to do a one time discount for cgn members of a free shipping deal if we get x amount of buyers.

Apples and oranges. Hornady does not make plated bullets.

I've done an X-treme group buy in the past. The best deal is if you get it shipped to depot (not to your house). BUT you need a very sturdy truck to move 25K bullets (it is lead after all).
Also, it helps if there are people who can take up the slack on getting to 25K - some will flake out at the last moment. Good luck.

OP, you opened the door. Are you looking into bulk pricing or not?
Honestly, if I'm only going to save a buck or two per thousand it's just no worth the trouble. If you wait for a sale and free shipping you'll do better.

Free shipping for veterans day if you don't want to wait. Honestly, unless you're going to order a lot of bullets,it's not really worth the hassle

It's a very simple process. I've been buying with Xtreme for three years. This year, I've purchased over 250,000 bullets from them. Each order must exceed 25k and the dealer pricing is close to 25% off. No tax. Shipping from NV to a terminal in SoCal works out to about $5/ 1000 bullets.
Someone needs to take the lead, arrange an account and get a price list. I only do this with friends, so money is not a concern. With a bunch of net-strangers, you'll want to collect PayPal up front. Of course, only someone reputable with strong iTrader feedback should run this and collect money. Good luck!

Greg, just realized you're the OP. Let me know what you need and I can put you on our order next time. I just called an order in yesterday so won't be placing another one until January.
