Yeah, I picked up a 160gr RN mold so I was gonna make some light and FAST ammo for my 1911 and then my friend was like, NO, that is meant for .45 LC, you can not get it to cycle in your 1911...
SO then I must have found an awesome silencer pill or has anyone found any powder that would allow this light of a pill to fire out of a 1911? :\

You want a heavy bullet for a silencer load because you are trying to limit your MV to 1050 or less so the bullet won't exceed the speed of sound an make that supersonic crack as it travels through the air. Plain old 230g bullets are ideal for that in 45ACP.

If your lightweight short fatty bullets fail to cycle. Just pop in a lighter recoil spring. Takes all of 30 seconds.

Load them hot, you'll be fine.

I don't shoot that light of a bullet in a round nose design but I shoot a lot of the 150 gr LSWC's from Dardas Bullets. I load them over 10.5 gr of A #5 for close to 1200 fps.
They cycle fine in my 1911 and my son's HK USP.

Okay so then we are all good. I can load HV rounds that are fast AND travel farther then 230gr AND save me a lot of lead in casting...
Thanks folks. ;)
And yeah, with a can I would want an ideal load around 900fps, but certainly slower than 1100fps.

I believe that 45 Colt (AKA Long Colt) is a .454 diameter bullet whereas the 45 ACP (automatic Colt pistol) is a 0.452 diameter bullet. I have a 45 Long Colt that actually uses .455 diameter bullets. If you slug your barrel then you will know what size you can use. Too large a diameter can cause pressure spikes as you cram a wide bullet into a narrow hole.
That is why this diameter difference may cause you a problem, unless you run the cast bullets through a resizer meant for the 45 ACP. And don't forget to lube or powder coat the bullets if you plan on shooting them at high velocities or you may get leading of your barrel.

HAH!
Already ahead of ya.
Although I do NOT know the diameter of the mold, I DO know that I was gonna resize them down to .451 after which they would be PC and loaded, BUT now I do not need to buy a .45LC Rossi Ranch hand so it works out even better...
