Angeles Reloading Store had some a couple of days ago. If they still have some tomorrow , I just might pick up a pound and work up some loads.
Phillips wholesale will have some tomorrow morning.
Those charge weights seem higher than the other powders I use. I wonder how the density is, and what the benefits are over the common pistol/shotgun powders like 231/hp38, red dot, bullseye, ect. This is the first I have heard of this powder. Fortunately, I have enough pistol powder to last a very long time, so I don't need to pick any up. I will have to keep an eye out for other people's results.

It's slower than the fast pistol powders (charge weight). Closer to Unique, Universal, etc. No idea why they tried to attribute it to Bullseye. Less muzzle flash seems to be the selling point. Many of the HD ammo suppliers have been touting muzzle flash, so Alliant created (or marketed) to that end.

I bought a pound and loaded up 50 rounds of 9mm using online data from the Alliant. My usual target load is 5 gr of Unique under a 115gr xTreme copper plated bullet which is mild yet 100% reliable, no flash, in the Gen 4 Glock 19 and 26. Using 5.5gr of BE-86 under a 115gr Nosler JHP had considerably more punch, with moderate flash.

Because it is a variant of Bullseye, like Bullseye and Power Pistol. Bullseye is fast burning. Power Pistol is slow burning. Bullseye 86 is medium burning.
I suspect it is the same stuff loaded in Federal pistol ammo. Power Pistol was used in 9mm NATO ammo for a long time. But it's flashy and muzzle blastly. This stuff is prolly better in that respect.

I think it is because it starts with the same base as Bullseye, but just like Power Pistol (BE-84), they either add inhibitors to slow it down or add less nitroglycerine. Original BE has a very high NG content. BE-86 is touted as similar to PP but with less flash and muzzle blast. If you look at the PP load data, you need more powder than you do with your typical loads of Unique, W231 etc, but you can squeak out those extra few fps'.
Personally, I would prefer that they simply produced enough Unique, Red Dot and Bullseye to supply our needs. :(
But this stuff meters better.

Did you happen to chrono that load? Nice to know it meters well.
