I'd like to get a price opinion on the attached pictured Romanian 7.62 X 39 Match Ammo. I'm trading it for some AK tools and just want to know the value.
Thanks
Erv.

Base Info: Romanian, Mid-90's, Lead Core, Non-Corrosive

This is NOT MATCH-GRADE ammo. This was a marketing gimmick from a now-defunct importer.

Personally, treat it like you would any sealed case of Wolf/Hotshot/Tula that is 20 years old. Approx $125-175.

or 2 minutes on calguns and get an answer from a calgunner who knows something rather than "the internet" which is "always right".

The same kind of post that starts "I searched google for 2 minutes and the internet told me XXXXX" is answered the same way. "2 minutes of asking on calguns, man....."

OP did it right.

There is no such thing as "7.62x39mm Surplus Match ammo".

There is only a little more accurate handloaded 7.62x39mm ammo fit to your rifle (heavy bullets seated out) and single loaded.

Sorry but you are wrong.

They made 7.62x39 Ammo to MATCH the rifles that needed it and they made too much and had a SURPLUS so they have a Surplus of Match Ammo...

:D

No No No

This is true Match ammo:

Not to be confused with Match Grade Ammunition, and never confuse Match Grade Ammunition with any factory loaded 7.62x39. Although Golden Tiger comes real close for me.

Couldn't agree more, brother. Really starts to get old when simply answering someones question isn't enough without getting some kind of dig in at the same time.

"Match FMJ" sounds like an oxymoron to me.

Well that may certainly be True Match Ammo, but I doubt there is a surplus of it... And they should not have let that Shield bug act as the quality control inspector. how is he gonna be able to see inside the shells? They are just asking for trouble.

I want to see these "Match rifles" range report, let alone any truly match ammo for this caliber.

You can get down to about 2 MOA with handloads in std. military rifles if matched/OAL to their chamber.

Handload for a .308 bore chambered rifle and you can get just under 1 MOA maybe better depending on barrel quality/length.

But then again no one I know/seen has shot this caliber beyond the 50/100 yard sniper line.

I am gonna go with: "Because it is there!" for $300 Alex...

It is like a tornado ripping through the town sucking in posters of all sorts... We hope it goes away but the damn thing keeps changing course and catching more people...
