After being disappointed with the fit and finish if a SA Range Officer 9mm last week (http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=918495), I started my search for a high quality 1911 9mm. Found this on Tractus last night and jumped on it right away.

I think it will be a nice compliment to my .45 I got last year. There are a few small differences...from what I can see in pictures...differences on the 9mm are:
- FO front sight
- slide stop not countersunk
- barrel not reverse crown
- rounded MSH

I wanted a mirror image 9mm of my .45 but this is a beautiful gun. I'm sure I'll be happy.

UPDATE - Picked her up this afternoon. Here they are side-by-side:

Just want to say thanks for your post! I've been wanting a 1911 for quite some time, only my particular tastes were just way out of my current budget. Recently, I've been looking at less expensive models to purchase just so I wouldn't have to wait anymore. Thankfully, I read your post, saw your awesome pic and decided I will wait to get what I want. I really do not want to settle for an inferior, yet affordable 1911! That Wilson model is one of my favorites! I also like the Cabots!

Glad I could help ;-) never settle. You'll just regret it.

Don't wait too long. SSE is on the chopping block again

VERY nice. I'm a huge proponent of not having front cocking serrations on a 1911.

Very nice! Where may I ask are you getting mags? I've been having a heck of a time trying to find 9mm 1911 mags

Nice! Are you going to change the small differences to exactly match your 45?

I need a 9mm 1911 in my life as well..one more added to my bucket list :)

That looks pretty similar to the 9mm I had them make for me except I went with a completely blank slide:

I went through a heck of an ordeal to get mine running right. It went back to the shop THREE times!

Wilson paid for all three trips though. Hope you don't have the same problems I did.

Note that it's not a bad idea to pickup an 8, 9, 11 and 12 pound spring for that in case you need to tweak it for various types of ammo. It's got a 10 lb spring it currently. You're welcome for that btw. I like to think that it's because of how much hell I raised on this point that they are now finally able to define what spring weight comes in a full size 9mm. You wouldn't think that this would have been such a problem for a shop like Wilson's.

Oh, and some very light oil for sure. Wilson makes some if needed.

Good luck and let us know how it shoots! :)

I have the SA loaded in 9mm. Works like a champ with factory loads with the stock spring. Heard the new RO in 9mm doesn't follow in the footsteps of the 45 RO. Mine is on par with my TRP as far as slide to frame and barrel fit. Too bad if they went cheap to capitalize on the market. Sort of goes counter to the purpose of the RO models.

I ditched my Springfield 9mm 1911, I found it to be totally unpractical.. But.... that Wilson looks bad arse.

Nice piece of metal. I love wilsons, and I really need to get a 1911 in 9mm

Your 9mm 1911 has Wilson's new 1 piece MSH/speed chute. Your .45 CQB has their 2 piece.

My .45 has a 1 piece MSG as well. It's just not rounded like the 9mm

Not really a fare comparison, SA vs Wilson Combat.
I"ll bet that wilson cost at least 3 times the SA, It had better be a nicer 1911.
I would like to own one of those upper end 1911's, but I think there way overpriced.
With all that, nice gun congrats.

Nothing like going from a 700 dollar pistol to a 3000 dollar one. Nice pick up...

Awesome, congrats. Maybe one day I can convince the wife that I need one. Any Wilson Combat that is. :)

Looks good. Congrats!

Not settling is a good thing... Easy to say but quitr challenging to do. It takes patience and determination at the very least. It paid off for you.

I look forward to a range report, as well, when available.

That is a beauty, congrats. Would love to have one of those in my collection. Remember seeing an ad in a magazine for a Wilson that looked just like that years ago and wanted one ever since, and 9mm must be accurate as nails.
