Good or bad . I want to know what you think of the Black-T ( GREEN ) on the frame of this Springfield PRO .

From a collector standpoint it might hurt the value a small amount but it looks good to me. If I ever refinish my Pro LR I might choose a different finish or color too.

MC Operator Styled Professional. I'd take it over the standard pro.

I actually thought I would get some hate mail from the purists , if there is such a thing. Purists that is , not hate mail . I know that exists .

SA makes good 1911s ! Their warranty work is the best I've ever encountered.
The green frame is interesting ! Looks good too !

I've never considered a handgun with the picitinny rail feature, but it probably has a value !

I think it looks very nice. I've always liked the MC Operator and this one is extra nice.

The 30 lines per inch checkering on the front grip did not come cheap. I believe it still is done by hand, although I could be wrong this many years after 1 st seeing it !

Not entirely sure I could do that to my Professional. Even if the HRT serialized pistols are commissioned in NATO green, IMO, it would somewhat devalue a CRG serialized pistol.

Speaking of which, I saw a Professional on GB finished in HC, and the muzzle was flush-cut and crowned. In an instance like this, it would prove prudent to simply order a Custom Carry.

Back on topic, I do like the NATO green finish, but then again, I'm partial to the brand. I have a Colt M4 finished in Birdsong's proprietary Black-T treatment as well.

The folks at Birdsong & Associates are great to do business with.

I completely agree with you . Especially re. the hard chrome . Honestly , ever since I saw the HRT in pictures , I had an itch for it . They refinished the frame in the BlackT-Green . But they also refinished the slide , and the barrel. And honestly , the refinish really is much nicer than the original .

Wait, are you suggesting that the HRT pistols are being commissioned in NATO green, or this pistol in particular was refinished in NATO green?

I am stating that the above Black frame / Black slide PRO , I had refinished in BlackT Green on the frame . That HRT pistol that I snapped the pic of at Shot Show 2014 was born that way . So says the gentlemen at the SA custom booth.

Green and black looks really good, it's one of the finish combos I am considering for when I cerakote my 1911.

Ok, gotcha. Looks awesome. I will say, pictures rarely pay a Birdsong finish any homage. Matte, but there's a sheen to the finish that you really have to experience in person to appreciate. Extremely thin, glass smooth, and very durable.

By the way, did you happen to catch the names of the guys at the Custom Shop booth.

A few of those members have no idea what they're talking about.

Agree on the birdsong finish. It doesnt translate in pictures. But the refinish still came out much better than the original. Even the markings are more defined with cleaner lines. Didnt catch the names of the guys at the booth. And I reference the ar15 link just for more pics. Excuse my thumbs

Where is the bright orange ring around the muzzle?

:D

Seriously.

Two things.

1. It is ugly.

2. The gun looks like a toy.

I prefer black, blued, stainless, nickel plated, chrome plated, "brushed satin," or some other variation of uncolored metal.

I tend to dislike green, beige, pink, orange, tiger stripes, and/or any color other than the ones named above.

Purely subjective and irrational.

I completely understand, however, how others might find it attractive.

I just don't.

The finish looks well done, but for it is the wrong color.

Nice Pistol... Always liked that MC Operator look.

Some day I will own a Tac-Ops rifle with Walter Birdsongs finish on it. Someday...

It looks nice, but for some reason it looks more like toy gun than real gun.

I like it. Not sure I would do it if I had a Pro LR. Just because I don't have one yet and don't know how I would feel at that time :)

Enjoy it!
