Just purchased a dpms pattern lower and I'm itching to build it so I can shoot it! :chris:

I'm pretty flexible on what it will be. I feel like a 16 inch barrel upper will be fun to mess around with but am open to what's available on the market now. So who knows where to pick up a kit to finish her up?

Ammo Supply Point in Vacaville has a DPMS 308 upper... 799 I think. I don't recall the specs.

That's less than what I paid for my DPMS complete upper (including BCG and CH)...I'd have bid on that one for sure.

And yes, a 16" upper is about all you want...the .308 is a LOT heavier than the 5.56 pattern rifles and a 20" barrel would be heavier still!

But they shoot VERY NICE! My homebuilt LR-308 shoots so much better than my M1A1...less felt recoil and FAR more accurate!

Exile Machine often has them for about $80 less.
