I used to have an 03 years ago, don't have one anymore, selling off most of my collection. I always understood it to be illegal to ship even within the state to a non-licensee, maybe that is incorrect. I have people on Calguns asking for shipping and telling me it's not. All rifles are are over 50. What's the final answer on that?

Two CA residents can ship a C&R long guns to each other, provided it is fifty years old or more and the reciever is not a prohibited person.

Not illegal, as in, the transfer between California adult residents not prohibited from owning the guns described is NOT required to be face to face.

It's a fact.

Cool then... I have about 20 long boxes sitting around. Been a while tho, about 25 bucks to ship?

yes, and you can mail them. Don't forget insurance, and pad the barrel and remove the bolt to keep stuff from poking through.

Actually using the mail is the best because Fed Ex and UPS sometimes insist that one party or the other have a FFL. You don't even have to tell the mailman it is a gun.

Depends on who you use and where.

I used to use USPS all the time... been about five years at least, but I saved just about every box I had :)

Just a note.

Commercial locations tend to cost less to ship to than residential addresses, but I am sure the majority of your packages will got to a residential.

Doesn't that change as of January 1st 2014? I thought I recently read all long guns will have to be transferred through an 01 FFL starting 1-1-14

On the 1st yes, but we are still in December.

But who knows how long th registration law will last.

I just got an email that the Calguns lawsuit against the 10-day wait is now going to trial. Apparently the judge had even said that it is probably unconstitutional.

Brown and Harris will soon be screaming rape.

lol - there I go forgetting what month this is again.

I cannot wait for the day this registration scheme is ruled illegal, infringing and/or unconstitutional.

For now the thought of the additional 10 day waiting periods being ruled unconstitutional will have to tide me over.

Do not use an identifiable long gun box such as mfg box. That is inviting theft. Plain box do not label as firerarm. I shipped a c&r to northern ca 2 weeks ago cost 25 bucks with insurance usps.
