I have a barely used Larue OBR 7.62 18" that I bought because I thought I HAD to have a 308 semi auto... it was hand picked out of a lot of 10 and shoots 1/2 moa or better.

Thing is... I shoot mostly bolt guns... but I supposed one day I could get into long range precision with a semi.

But I'd also really like an AI AE Mk III in 260rem. ;)

What say you?

Keep it and save up for the AI. I too want an AI, but with pending legislation you might not be able to ever own a semi auto like your Larue here in CA ever again.

Bolt guns on the other hand are safe.. For now

Those Larues are very hard to come by right now also. I'm sure there's lots of people who wish they could have got one earlier. Your luckier to have one than you think

Wow! You've heard Larue rifles described as scarce and California Unicorns. I have a 5.56 OBR that you will have "pry out of my cold dead hands". Unless you need the cash, I'd keep it. I have other ARs that I like but the Larue is a keeper. I plan to pass it down to one of my kids, I'll probably leave a note in my will about it!

What are you insane, i'd cut out my kidney with a spoon while walking of a bed of hot coals and reading a love poem to Bloomberg for an OBR. My brother has one in 308 and that has to be the best rifle I've ever been blessed enough to shoot and he owns some high end stuff too (Barrett LMT accuracy international etc etc) Keep the OBR

Yeah, LaRue OBR is the type of LR308 that I would buy straight out. Unfortunately it is easier for me to piece together a rifle with similar quality parts slowly than drop $3600 at one time for it. If I did have the money, I would drop it on a LaRue before any other AR brand rifle.

If it gives you wood, keep it. Otherwise sell and get a MR762.
AI's aren't gong anywhere....

Not sure if that is the current market price for a Larue OBR, but if it is why not sell it?

Otherwise you could wait until October or earlier depending on people's sense of panic to sell. I know we all hate gougers, but legislation could drive the market price for a Larue through the roof.

You would be a fool to sell that rifle in this political climate.

Sigh... guess i'll have to save up for that AI then. But if someone offered me $7500, I'd sell my OBR without a seconds hesitation.

How much are you planning to sell it for? ;) I would sure like to have the honor of trying one out, but I might have to fly out to Texas for Larue's biannual Range Day to do that. Have you tried it out at any 1000+yd ranges?

It only has something like 50-100 of FGMM 168 through it. I replaced the original stock with a CTR with RISR combo, installed a Surefire brake, installed a Geissele SSA-E. Shot some groups at 100 yards... most sub 1/2 moa. Shot out to 600 yards without any problems. Never got a chance to take it out to a grand as I only had 168smk at the time.

Haha copy that... but I think I have a few friends in real life that would beat me if I sold it to anyone but them for around MSRP.

Sigh... i really want the AI AE, but I don't think I can manage another $4K rifle... just bought a house. :/
