Wasn't this posted last week and everybody had their orders canceled and were told no Calif. sales???

Bud's will now ship the Saiga IZ 132 to California. Promise.

This gun is CA compliant - however, you must contact your dealer in advance to ensure that they will complete transfer. If your dealer refuses, transfer restocking fees and return shipping costs will apply.

hmmm... j & g claims they wont ship the zastava to my ffl unless they have an AW license and hi-cap mag license, and i need to be LE. i almost ***** myself. he asked if i was familiar wjth CA gun laws.

hopefully my ffl will straighten them out and just install a mag lock

otherwise it looks like im going the saiga route

Where did you get your yugo from..?

So how do these saigas compare to arsenal saigas? What other companies import saigas also?

Will these guys ship to Cali? Do they provide the bullet button (does the sporter even require it??)? Anyone order from these guys before?

I'm an AK newb so i don't know how it compares to the arsenal... but its 1/3rd the cost!
Same receiver, just the arsenal is converted. and i think they offered a milled receiver but that shouldnt make a difference.. not to me at least

An unconverted Saiga brand new for under $500 is a no-brainer. It will become your go-to rifle immediately.

I think it requires a decent amount of work.. You have to move the entire trigger forward.. I ve never done it but it sounded like you need tools and need to know what you re doing??

Ya, I have a X39 but I would be tempted they were 5.56.

yes. have one in 223/5.56 and I love it just as it is. definitely a go to...

Basic "rear end" conversion isn't horribly complicated. You can find lots of primers and videos for it online.
I've never done one myself but I watched my father do one some years ago with some instructions and pix he printed out.
It was his first go and he didnt have an issue so

Awesome!

If only there wasn't a stupid $100 up charge for all my dealers.

Yes unconverted. Unless you are more interested in a rifle that looks cooler but is gimped up with a maglock.

Great price, almost the same as the pre-panic price! Wish they had one in 5.45 caliber as well.

Just ordered one from Ed's. never dealt with them so we will see how DROS goes tomorrow.

I went to Ed's Tactical Armory today and just DROSd my Saiga 7.62. $459.95 plus tax and DROS. I even bought a Tapco slant break that their gunsmith will install when I take delivery of the rifle. They're good to go!

rman
07-17-2013, 5:07 PM
yup, ordered this morning, already shipped and will be at Parallax Tactical tomorrow.

they only charge $25 (or $35 for handgun) + DROS. everyone else wanted a gazillion for the transfer. Wiser Owl used to do $35 but they suspended their online purchase transfers.

I plan to convert because I am specifically wanting an AK

Yes unconverted. Unless you are more interested in a rifle that looks cooler but is gimped up with a maglock.

Firing at the range does not require super fast mag changes so mag lock in a non issue, good smooth trigger and comfortable pistol grip is.
The only "go to rifle" would be realistic option in self defense is if the civilization went to hell in a hand basket and then a maglock would not be and issue either.

I picked one up about 2 weeks back from Turner's. They sold out quickly at $599. I plan on converting myself (although I am a noobie) as I found 2 very, very solid "how to's" on youtube.

Do people ever do "conversion parties"?. Um, wait that sounds really strange.

As a follow-up, just did the DROS paperwork at lunch. Ed's is just getting up an running and only accepting customers for will call pickups for online orders at this point.

They said they received 7 Saigas and sold all of them in under 48 hours online.

Were saigas difficult to find prepanic? I didn't really become interested in them untill recently..

Anyone know how fast shipping is from Bud's? I ordered a Saiga in the 7.62x39 flavor and was wondering if I should wait till I start my dross

shipping is pretty quick, but it's the processing that kills.

But you will always pay more if you need it now. Just so you know, I purchased mine on the first week of July before July 4 and will get it July 31 (including the 10 day wait). Just FYI
