I have bought a G19 and am looking to buy another 9mm. I am not a huge gun guy but am buying these to pass down to my sons when they get older for home defense. With everything going on I am not sure they will be able to buy anything when they are adults. I will be taking them to the range and using them for my own home defense. Looking for a full size. Kind of like the smith and Wesson M&P. or do I just buy another glock??

You already have a glock, I would buy a different brand

Buy Glock 34 since you already have Glock 19. I think it's little pointless to have Glock 17 and 19. I would buy Glock 34.

Besides the above, CZ is an option. CZ 75B is around the same price range as a G19. BHP would be a great piece to pass down!

Browning High Power will make the perfect pair.

I'd second the CZ if you're able to find one. It's kind of on the other side of the spectrum though in terms of comparing it to a glock.

Sig 226 or XD 9 would be my choices if you asked me.

Beretta 92FS , CZ-75 , Sig 226 - all are great full size pistols in 9mm that will last forever, keep their value and are fun to shoot.

There are many nice 9's out there. From personal experience, these are all very nice, accurate, reliable, and rugged.

Springfield EMP (not full size. But really nice 1911).
Glock 34
Springfield XD9
Beretta 92

Plus Kimber has some really nice models.

Nothing wrong with a pair o' Glocks. Then there's no argument over who got the "better" gun. :)

Now, if *you* are interested in another, I'd suggest something in a hammer-fired flavor, like a Sig, CZ or Beretta.

Nobody likes the smith and Wesson!! I am just thinking with everything going on they might not be able to buys guns in later years.

*I* wouldn't say that. If you search a bit you'll find quite a few comments regarding the spongy trigger on the M&P. Easily corrected with an APEX kit but does drive the cost up a bit.

My first was a Sig Sp2022. Love it!! Then went wheel with my GP100. LOVE IT!! I just jailed an RIA 1911 tactical. Next in line is a striker-fired. It will likely be a S&W M&P 9mm.

The Smith is a good Combat/duty/HD gun. Honestly you won't be wrong with any of the quality handgun's out today. Just pick the one that you want and train with it(you and your boys).

If OP's plan is to pass down to his next generation for decades to come, it might also worth to consider something like a stainless steel Ruger or S&W revolver.

I own both a G19 and full size M&P 9. I love both but I do favor the M&P more. Mainly because its feels better to me and I shoot it better. So I vote M&P because I'm a huge fan and it sounds like you want to buy one already.

1911's in 9mm. Your sons will appreciate them 50 plus years from now.

If you think your sons are into tacticool stuffs, HKs or Sigs.

My opinion...

Various new and used models, all good choices:

S&W 915
Beretta 92
Ruger P95
Sig P6
Sig 229
Sig 226

Guns I'd avoid due to potentially finickyness or parts availability:

1911 in 9mm
Hi-Point
Kahr P9 or CW9
Sig 2022

I really like Glocks, but I recently tried a full size M&P and did really well with it. I would buy one if I needed another full size 9.

45 ACP Sig p220 or CZ-97B is great out the box

40S&W Sig p229 or Beretta 96sf

9mm Browning HP, Beretta m9a1/92sf, Sig p228/p226, CZ-75B, or S&W 5906

.357/.38 Ruger GP-100 / SP-101

Single Stack .380 or 9mm Walther PPKS or Kahr MK9/K9

In 1911 Colt Model 70, Springfield Operator Series, S&W 1911 E-Series in Scandium Frame

If I have to choose one from the above inputs, it would be a Sig 226.

2 Sons ? Matching G19's is the easiest solution. :D

This is the best advice. the same ammo type so you can buy large quantities when available. And even more important easier stock up on magazines. Twin guns which are reliable will allow you to stock up on half the spare parts.
