You had to be in possession of the ceiner 30 round mags before the ban in 2000, or you must live in a state where a magazine capacity over 10 rounds is legal.

Or you can buy them as parts kits and keep them disassembled while they are in CA.

Quick question and by no means am I trying to knock your build. But why would you build a rimfire rifle on top of a registered lower? Isn't it already legal to have detachable mags on rimfire w/evil features, so wouldn't there be no need? Unless Im missing something...

The upper receiver is COMPLETELY INDEPENDENT of the lower receiver. Thus, using the same receiver he could convert to .22 and take it to an INDOOR PISTOL RANGE.

The lower still is an AW or whatnot. And putting a .22 upper on it doesn't change that.

I think the Atmosphere was posing the question:

Since the lower is already registered, why not keep it as a centerfire rifle and use an OLL to build the rimfire version.

At least, that is what I would do. :D

Lack of funds/minimizing space is probably the reason I'd think of, though I still want to get a dedicated .22 lower for my own self one day.

Nice! I am also still waiting on mine. I have 2 Ciener 30 round mags I am going to use with it and have a lower waiting for it.

That's exactly what I was getting at. Although just swapping between uppers makes sense too.

It only requires the magazine and then the upper to be removed and you are back to whatever it was before. It is so easy, why buy a new lower? Why buy a new lower until we get some marked in .22 Long Rifle just to be on the safe side?

I am not sure if I like the Rifle length rail with the fake can. I think I might see if they can get me a Mid-Length rail and the fake can when I build mine.

I can't wait until they get dealer pricing!

To shed some light on the receiver issue.

I have 3 registered AR receivers so no need for me to buy an OLL one. I also have a Colt 223 upper for the receiver in the pic so I just switch back and forth with the uppers depending which range I am going to.

It is so easy to pop the two pins and drop the uppers in place, 10sec and I'm done. :D

I hope you're not advocating that we not spend more money. I did have several things on my wish list to purchase off your site. :D

Makes sense. Guess those of us not fortunate enough to own registered receivers are envious... :cuss: :whistling:

Got the call from Angela today from Spikes and she said my upper was ready for shipment! I should get it next week so I should start assembling my lower...
