Don't sell this!

No kidding, that would be last on my list only ahead of a kidney, and not by much.

Yep....No way should you be selling something with that kind of family history. I don't want to tell you what to do, and we all have different reasons for what we do, but I think that you would come to regret selling such an item. Anyone else in the family in a better financial position able to help you through whatever hardship forces this sale?

I agree with the others. Keep this value piece in the family. Have it handed down to each generation. Money can always be made but you can never get this piece back once its sold. Dont do it.

I have regretted some things in my life that I wish I could have back. But none were as nice as that. I live in Corona and I would give you $20 dollars just to hold it once. Not kidding. I wish you well. And let me know if you have a viewing.

My cousin had my great grandpas guns and sold them without atleast asking family members first. I no longer talk to that POS and alot of other family members dont. Check with your family members first it was also thier grandfather maybe they'll see more than just dollar signs

Curious how old you are? The serial number for that gun puts it at about 1985 are you the legal owner and of age to sell?

Honestly, any loving elder would not want their children to suffer. That would mean selling the gun if it helps. Good luck OP.

i bet if asking price would have been $900 you wouldnt of received all this messages saying not to sell it or instead everybody would be fighting for first place to take it including myself.

My grandfather was given one of those and when he was discharged and came home my grandmother made him give it away cause she didn't want a gun around. When I heard this I almost had a heart attack :( I wanted it so bad

$5000 is only money that won't even buy a decent car! I'd just put it in the "I'll never sell box". If I needed the money I'd mow grass or wash cars!

That's just me though.

Shame on him? Shame on all of you for giving the guy crap about selling this. You don't know his situation and you're going to judge him? Wow.

Whatever his reason is, it may be a 'last resort' thing. It's none of our business.

Good luck with the sale OP - best of luck to you, beautiful piece.

X2!
Grandfathers put the health and happiness of their grandchildren first and always.
On top of that, we still live in a somewhat free country, thus the OP can sell it or paint Venetian Blinds with it for crissakes.
Either way, as PistolGuy stated it's the OP's business.
